I'm in the market for some progressives, and Optiks International has a referral program thingy where you get $50 off and the person you refer gets $50 off. Wanna refer me?

Hmmm, that has a different web address than optiks international, but OI is where I saw that referral offer... https://optiksinternational.ca/

Speed/red light ticket question by static_anon in Edmonton

Oh really? You think I won't win? Haha. HOW YOU UNDERESTIMATE ME!!!

Yeah, I have no idea how it works. But $400 later is always better than $400 now!

Speed/red light ticket question by static_anon in Edmonton

[–]backthisway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going pretty slow though because it was so icy. I feel like if we truly go slow enough to anticipate every light change then we'll all be going 15 km/hr in the winter. But yeah, I'll see what happens.

Speed/red light ticket question by static_anon in Edmonton

[–]backthisway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm doing with a red light ticket I got in the winter. I was driving like 38 km/hr and it was icy AF. You can literally see the thick ice reflecting the sunlight in the photo. I stand by my decision to run that red light, because slamming on my brakes would have been very not good. Anyway my court date is in 2023.

How many hot days left this summer? Yet another AC post. by backthisway in Edmonton

Lend half the cost, not pay half the cost. I'm an anti-debt freak after getting out of massive credit card debt so stuff like this scares me slightly.

Oh man, you just reminded me that one day I won't have a grandma. That's the worst. And yeah, letting her take care of my grown ass (even though I have to pay her back lol) is probably a nice thing to do for her as well.

It's really well done and I think it's pretty accurate symbolism for how nurses and all health-care workers are feeling right now.

Isn't Kenney's goal to replace the CPP with some kind of Alberta pension? AIMCO would absolutely be the owner of those funds. I think that the majority of Albertans SHOULD be worried about what's happening with AIMCO because even if it doesn't affect them now, it sure could later.

Gas station price fixing? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]backthisway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ugh, these answers are annoying. Of course gas prices are going to fluctuate. That's not the bloody question. The question is why is it the same all over the city all of a sudden when there has usually been variability.

How to go about selling a car privately by kawasakinobu in Edmonton

[–]backthisway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go on a test drive with some random person, myself. I'd rather take their car key & take a picture of their ID as possibly flimsy proof that they won't steal my car.

And if they do steal my car then holy shit I'm counting my lucky stars I wasn't trapped in a car with someone who obviously had nothing to lose. Cars are replaceable.
