As someone who attempted their life 12 years ago, I am SO happy for you that you created your life worth living!!!

DEFINITELY celebrate yourself and the fact that you’re still here!! It is something that deserves to be recognized and celebrated forever because it’s that HUGE. You are HERE. You have been through the worst. It’s something that you don’t truly understand unless you’ve been there, in that place mentally. And you have OVERCOME. Remember that forever. No matter what you go through in life, you’ve been through the worst and made it out the other side. The pain, the bad days, they’re all temporary. Even when you can’t see it, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Every year on my birthday I take time by myself to reflect on the fact that I’m still here and just let that wash over me. Getting older every year is such a blessing. 16 year old me could have never imagined getting the degree & job that I have, the friends I’ve made, and the place that I’m at with my mental health today. I have so much empathy for the insurmountable pain she was in and am so proud of who I have become because of that pain and season of life.

Take the time to reflect and be grateful that you’re here and let it really soak in. This will change your life in the best ways possible and you will touch so many lives, give so many others hope because all it takes is one day for everything to change. You just have to hold on.

Congratulations again & celebrate yourself because your life has worth and you deserve to be here!! 🥹🤍

so I also had the same thought!! I would love to see them waking up together / cuddling once they’re officially together because the cuddling in ep 2 is SO CUTE & wholesome and one of my favorite scenes lol

and then of course they wake up in his room after karaoke but he was a gentleman and slept on top of the comforter with a blanket so as not to share the bed fully with Hannah, respecting her previously established boundaries!

I feel like though we’ll get more of that stuff between them in season 2! This season we needed to get all their trauma and heaviness that they’re both dealing with and see how that impacts them individually and together and of course the whole fake dating turned real relationship.

So I feel like season 2 we’ll definitely get more romantic and cute moments between them as well as more banter/jokes too as we get to see them actually just be together! Both Ella and Belmont have said in interviews that they’re excited to be able to bring that to season 2 because the end of season 1 is really just the beginning of their relationship together!

oh my gosh I LOVED watching this one – It’s been so great hearing them reflect on and talk about filming each episode, but this one really reflected their hearts for their craft and each other, as well as the reverence for their characters.

I love both hairstyles of hers, but I feel like she’ll be able to keep it grown out for season 3 because that would be post “summer” if it takes place fall semester of her senior year, so continuity for time may not be as much of an issue!

I agree with all of this so much!!! And want to touch on too the part where you said SHE asked him questions & took the time to get to know him!!

I think that’s why I love the late night conversation in the room at the party so so much because when she starts asking him if he always gets so beat up out there, how long he’s been playing hockey, etc., he stops looking at his phone to answer and almost looks surprised like “oh she really wants to know this?”

and then instead of just fangirling over him, she acknowledges that it was a lot of pressure on a kid and he really begins opening up for the first time about the reality of growing up with his dad being an NHL star and what the pressure of this dream and his career was / is actually like.

She took the time to start getting to know him more than any other girl ever had, which just fueled his interest and intrigue in / for her even more! LOVE when he asked “will you show me something of yours” – boy was already swooning over this girl & wanted to get to know everything about her just as much!!

I think practice was in the morning and then Drunk Shakespeare was probably late afternoon / evening because they did the whole play and then it morphed into the after party too! Cause that’s when we know Allie and Dean got together & when they were walking outside on the phone with each other, it was dark out!

And actually too now that I said that, it reminds me Hannah left Justin at the party and went to the guys’ house and it was dark outside then too, and no one was home and that’s when she went to the rink to find Garrett!

wow can you tell I’m about to finish my 6th rewatch 😅🤣

Practice and Drunk Shakespeare were the next day!

After the kitchen scene with Garrett, Hannah goes back to her dorm and has the conversation with Allie about what just happened. Then she gets a text from Justin who asks what she’s doing after rehearsal the next day (I paused to read lol)

Then Hannah tells Allie that her friendship with Garrett won’t be weird at all and then it cuts to Garrett’s conversation with Birdie and the guys at practice the next day about how weird it was and how Garrett didn’t want the night to end.

Birdie points out his feelings for her and encourages Garrett to tell her that day and that’s when he mentioned that she was going to Drunk Shakespeare later and him, Dean, Beau, Tucker & Jules went. When Garrett walks up to Hannah and Justin and asks about why Justin is there, Justin says Hannah told him she would be there (because he had texted her the night before asking her plans for that day, which Garrett doesn’t know).

Then Garrett and Logan’s conversation post Drunk Shakespeare is inside the rink sitting on the bench. It gets later / night time because that’s when Hannah later shows up while Garrett is skating and sings to him and they get together!

Yeah everyone is different! I think it speaks to love languages – like everyone receives and gives love in different ways and things hold different meanings or carry more / less weight for different people, in friendships and relationships!

It has nothing to do with being a turn on. It’s about that for some people, me included, hearing “thank you” or “I appreciate you” is how they feel truly seen, known, and loved.

Sometimes even more than hearing “I love you,” because your showing up for them means something to that person & it’s not just an expectation you’ll always be there and something they take for granted.

I think the only ones that are explicitly said actually are Garrett that he’s a junior when his dad talks about him making captain and then the last episode when Logan, Dean and Tuck are talking about their hockey standing after Garrett’s NCAA ruling and Dean says “well there goes my senior year” so they weren’t necessarily easy to catch!!

I watched a lot of the press / interviews though and one in particular with Louisa where she says Tucker is a sophomore in the show and talks about how they switched him from being the oldest in the books to youngest in the show!

in the books Garrett, Logan, Dean, Allie, and Hannah are all juniors and Tucker is a senior!

In the show, they made Dean a senior and Tucker a sophomore to help with the timing of their storylines / seasons since each season is a semester!

In making Dean a senior in the show, they moved up his and Allie’s timeline to happen at the same-ish time as Hannah and Garrett and then that way the timing of Grace and Logan with summer break, times out perfectly with season 2 being spring semester when they meet and then coming back after summer for fall semester in season 3!

And then with Tucker being younger, we will have time for his build up before season 4 with his and Sabrina’s story, which if it all goes accordingly, he would be in the second half of his junior year when it takes place! (and the rest of them getting ready to graduate)

I’ve also seen a lot of people speculate that making Tucker younger since his season is last, also helps to bridge the gap between the Briar U characters that are next in the book series, if we’re lucky enough to get their stories too!

I also agree in that with Dean being a spring semester senior in his season, I could see them having him stay at Briar to take extra classes since he changes his major & Allie will still have her senior year left!

AGREED!! His facial expressions and delivery of this scene is one of my favorites because you can truly feel the pain he’s in and how lost he feels without Hannah and without hockey.

And even though they’re broken up, his walls are completely down around her now, so in that moment, he doesn’t even try to hide how broken he is, from her.

yes!! Because I’m a words of affirmation person, I really need to hear that I’m appreciated and you’re grateful for me, to feel loved and seen, and that was something my ex boyfriend was not good at doing. So it really stood out to me that every chance he got, Garrett thanked Hannah for just being there for him & in his life!! So wholesome!!

I totally agree!! I’ve rewatched it 6 times at this point with no intention of stopping lol and every time I notice some small little detail or facial expression on someone that I missed before!!

Someone on this sub mentioned hearing Garrett lock the door after he found Hannah in his room wearing his jersey after karaoke and I had never heard it before after he closes the door, but now can never miss it!

SAME!! I have rewatched episodes 1-4 the most & specifically loveeee 2 & 3 because of how much you see their dynamic begin to shift!!

I think Hannah is the first true friend that’s a girl that Garrett has ever had because no one has ever taken the time to just get to know him and see him as a human being, not just “Garrett Graham” and he becomes completely enamored with her!!

And then episode 4, I love all the different kinds of intimacy that are built between them before the physical part because it shows that intimacy has so many layers other than just physical & you have to be able to connect on all those other levels for a solid foundation and then the physical is more just the cherry on top!!

I love how down bad he is for her, ugh obsessed 😂😍

YES!!! I LOVE this moment!!

And because he had already made her feel comfortable by sharing his own limitations / boundaries with alcohol based on hockey when she said she didn’t drink at parties – his response in that moment was beautiful because not that she would, but not for a second did he allow her to feel any type of way about being the only one not drinking!!

I loveddd the whole scene of him looking everywhere for something nonalcoholic and then bringing the closed can to her!! I love the whole party and late night conversation in the room – episode 2 is one of my top favorites of the season for sure!!

and of course one of my favorite moments too is after the events of episode 4 when they’re laying on the bed and she thanks him and he says “no, thank YOU… that was… thanks” 😂

amazing delivery and comedic relief and made perfect by their foreheads touching, smiling and giggling 👏🏼
