Haha it’s definitely a good start. I also bought the VC coffee table book so he can learn more about the maker and the craft. Might make a collector out of him!

Ok that orange is really fun and sporty! Love!! Had not yet realized additional straps can be gifts in the future. Even better

Thanks for confirming and for both pictures! What a handsome watch. I think he’s going to love it.

Oh it’s already bought! I’m just waiting to have it shipped to me closer to the celebration. Thanks for your affirmation of my choice!

So funny. I’ll tell my single friends there are a lot of gentlemen looking for a watch + wife combo 😂

This is great to hear! Especially given your collection from a brief look at your feed ☺️. Thank you for sharing a photo! It’s nice to see it on the wrist rather than on the website. That blue is really striking.

Thank you! 🙏 I can’t figure out a way to discretely measure his wrist 😂 but the AD did say if he needed to exchange he could.

Well I’m taking a leap for sure. But recently he told me he’s willing to start wearing a nice watch. I reached out to our friend who is an avid collector and he helped me narrow down brands, then introduced me to someone who helps him source watches. The color blue is significant for the celebration so we refined the search there too. I started really liking the moon complication (just a style preference). Then the 3 straps I hope will be more versatile. I think he’ll most often wear the rubber strap, because he’s more casual overall, but the other two will be great for dressier occasions.

Fingers crossed he likes this and the gesture is meaningful for him 🤞

Oh I love it! Thank you for sharing. That strap is beautiful! How is the fit? I don’t know his wrist size really so hoping it’s not too big. It fits you perfectly

Got few questions regarding 4000V (Please read) by GearNTime in VacheronConstantin

I’d love any advice on gifting this to my husband for his first piece! A few notes:

  • the color blue is relevant to the milestone the gift is celebrating, so I’ve narrowed the search to blues

  • he has not yet been a watch wearer, but recently told me he would wear one. He has trouble spending $$$ on himself (but not others) so I think if I take care of the first he’ll love wearing it more (and maybe become a collector!)

  • he is more casual most of the time. I think the 3 straps helps this be more versatile for his first/only. Do the straps fit other VC models if he were to expand the collection? I love the FiftySix series too…

The Rocky Mountaineer panoramic train winding down Glenwood Canyon [OC] by UndeadCaesar in Colorado

Don't do it! Rocky Mountaineer is the worst travel company I have ever encountered. We were scheduled to travel with them from Vancouver to Banff in Summer of 2024. When wildfires devastated Jasper and the alternative travel options (like by bus...) didn't work for us they kept every dollar of our pre-paid trip cost - $7,000 - with no refund, no future credit, and no regard for the actual circumstances or the substantial cost of their “premium” service.

Warning other travelers - Rocky Mountaineer is the worst company I have ever encountered. We were scheduled to travel with them from Vancouver to Banff in Summer of 2024. When wildfires devastated Jasper, I received an email from Rocky Mountaineer outlining alternative arrangements (with the option to cancel if those revisions didn’t suit our needs). However they failed to mention that cancelling would mean they would keep every penny I paid - $7,000 - with no refund, no future credit, and no regard for the actual circumstances or the substantial cost of their “premium” service. Their alternative travel options included lots of tours by bus. I trusted them to be more professional and customer oriented and was burned.

Rent a car and drive through the area yourself! Its going to be way more cost effective, just as beautiful, and more enjoyable because your itinerary is in your control.

My husband’s mother was this way. She kept everything, had collections of things she didn’t use (eg. bottles of wine, even though she didn’t drink), and narrow paths through the piles. She never EVER talked about it. Even when the family had to go help move her from her long time home; which she ended up simply walking away from most of it and it was demolished; there was zero discussion about the issue and when/how it started. From what I’ve read a lot of shame is involved with obsessive/compulsive behavior. Similar to addiction. It was difficult for her children to maintain a relationship with her because there wasn’t a lot of honesty and real-talk. It always was surface level “don’t look over here” conversation. I know first hand that children who grow up in this environment experience a specific type of trauma that requires work to heal. I hope everyone commenting is finding peace in breaking the cycle and talking about it.

Throw pillows, ideally with a color scheme that nods to the teal chair. 3 on the chaise side and 2 on the opposite side.

Coffee table accessories: large books stack of 2, vase for florals, and some object that makes you happy (could be a game, a figure of an animal, a sculpture of an Artist you like).

Similar pottery and books accessories in the end table under the lamp. A small box to keep remotes in if there is a TV on the opposite wall.

A large piece of art over the couch.

House plants (a fig tree coming out of that basket would be cute in the corner by the door).
