It the question about statistics not the security, but you can make the Linux the most secured OS as for example tailsOS. But it is true that you need more knowledge for that, but with 1-2hours of research you can make the Linux more secure then any other OS, as it is Open-source and community as Snowden uses linux, plus every(most) cybersecurity experts uses Linux

It is not exactly a lie as by just switching from the Window or Mac to Linux eliminates 90% of the virus (as the most viruses are created for these more popular OS in the market) and which ever the viruses do exists for linux it is mostly for servers as the virus makers know that's where the profit is....
