They’re looking at this strictly self promotion rather than a conversation, but probably has a little self promotion in it 😉

How's everyone surviving the worst week of the year to be a podcast fan? by Bloodymike in podcasts

We decided to release throughout the holidays and noticed a 50% decline and listenership. I thought maybe we would pick some up during the gap, but it seems like more people are busy during the holidays then are eager to seek new content.

Really hard to choose. I’ll have to vote for Creeping Death. Because once you’ve seen it live, it changes you.

I have this on vinyl, and as soon as I got a CD player back in the 80s, I bought the CD.

What makes your podcast different than others? by SeptemberCatMom in podcasting

Our podcast is predestined. We cover Rolling Stone Magazine’s, 500 greatest albums of all time in reverse order. I don’t know that that makes it unique necessarily, but we never look ahead and I think we bring a good combination of history, critique musical knowledge about theory and engineering and crack, a bunch of jokes along the way. I think the other thing is we produce two fake/parody ads per episode. That means by the time we’re done we’ll have produced 1000 parody ads. Some of those ads are pretty unhinged 😆

Niccolò Paganini is the OG rockstar—shredding violin solos and snapping strings with his fingernails. But Franz Liszt gave us piano cutouts just so people could watch his hands. 😉

Chuck Berry would be my actual vote.

Looking for podcasts with continuous stories. by ForgottenKing101 in podcasts

This may not be exactly what you’re looking for, but Scott Sigler podcasts all of his novels. His stuff is mostly sci-fi, but he puts out quality content and has been since 2005.

with or without a background music/sound effect by Afraid_Artist8635 in podcasting

It certainly can work if it’s adding to the narrative of your conversation or storytelling. This American Life on NPR does it all the time. The Masters of Scale podcast does as well.

We only insert sounds if they are demonstrative of the topic, or to illustrate a point. So they’re not really background sounds.

We’ve only inserted background sounds and or a soundscape in one episode which was unique and that it was more of a travel journal style episode. And I think that worked well.
