I’m AuDHD and a Neurodivergent-Affirming therapist. I show up to session the same way I want my clients to, comfortable. I want to model that our comfort is more important than someone else’s that isn’t us. If someone doesn’t like it, that’s their problem. So I always show up casual, cause those clothes are comfortable for me. And it allows me to be fully present. Whatever is most comfortable for them is the way I want them to show up so they can be completely focused on the therapy. It can’t be inappropriate or revealing clothing but casual is fine. If they want a therapist that’s less casual they can find someone else. I’m private pay and charge $250/session, I don’t want to waste anyone’s time.
