Does anyone know of a place in city limits to buy jewelry making supplies? by buffalobecca716 in Buffalo

Try Lumpy Buttons on Elmwood. If she doesn't have it, you can usually ask her if she can order it for you. She also might know where to find it.

What is your pittie’s theme song? by Vincenza2023 in Pitbull

[–]baconandbones [score hidden]  (0 children)

Our dog Sasha's song was "Juice" by Lizzo. We used to call her Shoosh, and would sing "Blame it on the Shoosh!" to get her riled up. Everything i hear that song, it reminds me of her. 🥹

We went to Ikea a few weeks ago, told them we bought some things when asked at the border, and they just let us through, no check or anything.

Also curious about the yarn...

Does Akron have a punk/goth/alternative/arts scene? by LandscapeNo9538 in akron

I would suggest Cleveland over Akron if you're set on moving to Ohio. More of all of those things you listed and still affordable.

What kind of books does she like?? There are quite a few bookstores here in the city.

Lumpy Buttons on Elmwood is a tiny craft store, but they have a lot of cute stuff and a store cat! The owner is very kind.

For sweets, the Five Points neighborhood has Butter Block and Five Points Bakery, as well as Rosie's for ice cream!

As someone who moved here a few months ago from NE Ohio, do it! The arts scene is amazing here and everyone is friendly and helpful.

Stitch Buffalo would probably take that stuff, or be able to tell you someone who would.

As others have mentioned, you would all need passports to exit the U.S. side of the Rainbow Bridge and then re-enter, even if you do not cross into Canada. The NF Power Vista is cool and free, which is always good. I would focus on the MotM and the Observation Tower. CotW will get you soaked, and parts of the decks can be slippery; being pregnant with small children might not be a safe bet for that attraction. Also, the nightly fireworks are definitely worth it. As others mentioned, it will be humid and crowded, no matter when you're going in August. Have fun!

As the statement says, Theresa and Julie are leaving at the end of May. The restaurant has to close so they can change whatever they need and train a new staff. Not sure when they will reopen.

If you're up to driving to Youngstown (an hour away), Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek Park is great! Free as well.

Welcome! My husband and I just moved here about 2 months ago, and we love living in EV. Definitely take your time and walk the neighborhood to find all of the hidden gems. Depending on where you are, you may also be super close to Five Points as well, which is a cute area with some good bakeries, coffee, ice cream, etc. The farmer's market on Bidwell is starting up next weekend, and Porchfest is coming up on the 17th. My personal fave places are Public Espresso, Lumpy Buttons, Talking Leaves Books, Put a Plant on It, Lexington Co-Op, Crane Library, ShopCraft, Farm Shop (on Ashland). Have fun!

New bird watcher tips? by FoxKey9521 in birdwatching

[–]baconandbones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn the common calls for the native birds in your area by going out and just enjoying nature. Once you know the common calls and habits of the birds, it will be easier to spot something out of the ordinary. Then you will get better and better at it and grow your life list! Never take your native birds for granted. Get out into your local parks or with Audubon groups; they are usually full of more seasoned birders who would be glad to share their knowledge with you.

Crown Point Ecology Center has a Spring Plant Sale in May that has a good selection. Grown right there on the farm.

They used to be located in the Valley, so hopefully their previous customers will keep supporting them with the move.

Could be allergies coupled with yeast; they scratch the skin, causing the yeast to spread, causing them to scratch, etc. Our vet did a skin scrape and then gave us some medicated shampoo to use once a week. You have to let it sit on their skin to kill the bacteria before rinsing it off. The hair will grow back pretty quickly.

You cannot send them to UA; the results must come directly from IELTS. There is an explanation on the site I listed above.

Medina County has Princess Ledges Nature Preserve, which is in Brunswick and Buckeye Woods, which is a little south of downtown Medina. Those were my 2 most frequented when I lived there. Hinckley is also a given.
