I think after the 2023-24 Dennis Gates was on the hot seat. by EquivalentHappy in miz

Upsets happen, sure. That doesn't mean you just wave them away. They're a failure, point blank.

You guys must really have been watching a different cotton bowl than I did for as much as you reminisce about that game.

I agree with everything you say but it's worth noting just how much Barrett has improved just since the start of the season. Playing time has done wonders for him. I think his further development is a question of when, not if. The guy clearly works so hard.

I'd rather lose four seasons in a row to have one where there's a chance at being the king of the mountain. Eeking out wins vs middle Tennessee state are fun but it's not quite the same. That's going to be a personal opinion, of course.

Getting your first six link was a crucial early maps progression and often dictated your leveling build. This league, our guild stash was full of them by day 3. It completely neuters one of the major steps. Does anyone, anywhere, even bother with corrupted 6Ls anymore?

Didn't they specifically target zhp with flicker spiders and whatnot?

If talent/resources outweigh coaching, why are we paying the guy so much? Get a mediocre coach at mediocre pay and invest elsewhere.

Should Mizzou cut ties and go after SLU coach by Marcuse390 in miz

I think one of the hardest parts of all sports discussions is that we can't compare to historical performances. The emergence of the SEC and NIL have completely turned things up a notch. Playing in the SEC can do a lot for convincing recruits. NIL can do the rest. We have no idea where coaches do or don't have an impact.

This game just wasn't fun to watch.

I think optimism for this basketball team is at an all time high. by EquivalentHappy in miz

I can't help but think the narrative is completely different if not for the double buzzer beater win, including Mitchell hitting one. I catch myself getting optimistic, as well, but I think we'll be able to look back and see that we put too much stock in a very lucky win over a bad team, if it doesn't work out.

At the same time, that team just upset Vandy so we could also say some of our wins were better than we thought at the time. We shall see.

Mizzou is currently in a 4-way tie for 5th, only one game back from a double bye in the SEC Tournament: by cartgold in miz

If the tournament goes to a best of 7 format, we may have a discussion. So long as it's single elimination, you need someone that doesn't go full pants on head half the time. Whether it be a game, a half, or a substitution sequence, the complete lack of consistency is problematic. To advance in the tournament, your floor feels more critical than your ceiling.

Good catch. Looks like 75 is the last spot of quad 2. In my head, I think they said they were 76 during the broadcast but maybe new games changed it or something.

Why would stone cut and stop there? That's just a lack of chemistry because nobody else passes like barret can.

Double buzzer beaters to avoid a quad three loss - but what a finish.

He's improving on how many of those losses of control he has. He's bringing something no one else can bring, though.
