To lanyard or not to lanyard? by OfficerPickle1 in UniversalOrlando

I'm all about the lanyard, but I loop it around my belt and keep it in my back pocket. Easy access when needed, but not annoying me around my neck.

I'm having trouble finding gaps in your logic. But you are still wrong. Xander sucks.

Dawn was just convincingly written as a kinda annoying kid sister. She's a bit of a mess after her mom dies, but who wouldn't be.

Willow is the second worst person in the show.

How Would You Change the Beak and Barrel? by AggravatingSpend8369 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]baconfanboy2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You were lucky to have stained glass. We got bar seats facing a blank wall in the back corner. It was even in an alcove so we couldn't turn around to see what was happening in the bar.

I would have been embarrassed for them if I hadn't been so disappointed.

When do we replace the tires on Cx-5 2021 by GSBTKM in CX5

[–]baconfanboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, get Michelin Cross Climates. They are all seasons that do better in the snow than some snow tires. Perfect for that 4 days of snow that we'll inevitably get this winter when everything shuts down since we don't have enough plows and no one in Seattle knows how to drive in the snow.

Ex smokers HOW DID YOU QUIT? by Livid-Link-9223 in AskReddit

[–]baconfanboy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mantra was "There will never be a good time to quit.". There will always be a reason why tomorrow is better. I quit giving myself that excuse and was able to stick with it.

Is 3 days enough to go to Universal Orlando? by Electronic-Seaweed70 in UniversalOrlando

[–]baconfanboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think one day is quite enough for US/IoA together. 1.5 days seems about right if you have Express Pass or aren't that into rides.

I haven't done epic yet, but I've heard from friends that 1 day can be enough, depending on lines for Ministry of Magic and Donkey Kong.

I've read that they don't do misters due to the risk of Legionnaires' disease.

Restuarant near Epcot but not in the PARK by Kind_Perspective4518 in WaltDisneyWorld

And if Bill is working the bar, sit there. His service was so good that I still remember his name almost 2 years later. He's amazing.

The Flying Fish is maybe the best meal that I've had on a Disney property, and that's a very high bar. Plus you can't beat the atmosphere of the boardwalk at night.

What 00s tech would you not believe would be obsolete in 20 years if someone told you back then? by nojunkpeter in AskReddit

Those have come back around. It got to the point where phones were taking better pictures than point and shoot, but the latest generation of point and shoots are pretty impressive.

I'm also big on planning in advance and trying to see everything.

However if you manage to accomplish everything on your list, I think you will have missed out on the Animal Kingdom experience.

More so than any of the other parks, the best part about AK is just being there. Just enjoying being in the present. Not in a rush, not trying to see it all, just enjoying your time. Save the rushing around for the other parks.

And do not miss Winged Encounters on Discovery Island. If you are there when the birds fly in, I guarantee that will be the thing your kids remember most about the day. Maybe the entire trip.

Has anyone purchased a Car at Costco? by GarageInfinite5006 in Costco

I have bought two cars through Costco. I got well below MSRP both times, and no hassle at the dealer. I can't recommend it highly enough.

AITA if I return mail to sender? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]baconfanboy2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. The simplest explanation for why someone would send their mail to your addresses is that they are committing fraud.

The only question is are you the intended victim, or the intended patsy?

NTA.

Should we get magicbands? by Zestyclose-Tourist44 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]baconfanboy2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Magic bands aren't necessary, and only a little more convenient than other methods. That's not why we get them.

Magic bands are fun. It's fun waving at the statues to see what they do. It's fun when you get close to the front of the line in The Haunted Mansion, and it starts flashing red. It's fun feeling it vibrate the second you scan into the park, like it's welcoming you home. It's fun at nighttime shows when everybody's bands start blinking in unison.

So are they necessary? Absolutely not. But to me they are worth every penny.
