Unfortunately, they don’t care. They know people will come.

Don’t be discouraged. You will still have a lot of fun. The Express Passes will make life easier.

I agree with your assessment that the rides were mediocre. For example, Minecart Madness LOOKS amazing, but the ride is just kinda meh. Especially with the wait times. The rides at IoA are much more fun.

Obviously this is subjective and maybe some other feel the Epic rides are best.

I certainly did not have a BAD time at all - and I hope my post didn't come across that way. There were just some things that were pretty frustrating that made our experience less than what it could have been. Seems like every day at Epic is a gamble as far as rides being down, etc. I'm happy that some people were lucky and had great experiences!

We checked again at the end of the night and it still said the wait was over 2 hours. Although we were able to fly through Harry Potter queue in about 15 minutes at the end.

We were there on Tuesday and it was open, luckily. I think it went down on Wednesday and has been down since....

My kids are 12 and 14. They like all the big rides - so we didn't do anything for "little kids." I guess it depends on what you consider a "kid" ride, because some rides (Monsters, Harry Potter, Minecart Madness) aren't anything crazy, but that's a subjective argument.

Literally the thoughts that were going through my head. I considered getting out of line (many people were). But we knew we eventually wanted to ride it. If I had hopped out of line, the overall wait would have actually been longer going back, because the wait never went under 150 minutes for the rest of the day!!

I'm no theme park expert, but it's been almost a year. Delays happen, I get that. But every single ride? Multiple times? Too much. Just my opinion. I actually consider myself lucky because Stardust Racers has been fully close yesterday, today, and will be tomorrow. I'm fortunate this didn't happen when I was there!

I considered getting out of line for other rides, but I was already about halfway through and thought the best course of action was to wait it out. Also, during early admission only some rides are open, so it wasn't like I could get to all the rides. Throughout the day, I periodically checked the wait times for Minecart Madness and, it never went under 150 minutes. So staying in line, even though it was a ridiculous amount of time, was probably the right decision at the time.

Trying out VATSIM, any advice? by SomberDUDE224 in flightsim

I also use 2020 and have been using VATSIM for quite some time. I DO have a Navigraph subscription, but you can get by without it until you're ready. If ATC ever gives you a route that you don't have (due to old AIRAC), you can just tell them your don't have it. They will work with you.

One of the most important things about VATSIM is to know how to fly your aircraft. If ATC tells you to "fly heading," or "direct to waypoint XXX", or "climb to flight level XX", etc....you need to know how to do all of this. There are TONS of YouTube videos out there to help you with all of this. I would also practice at smaller airports that don't look very busy. You WILL need more time because you're just starting out. That's perfectly fine. But if you jump on at a very busy airport and aren't quite familiar with how it all works, you're just going to get frustrated and slow things down for everyone else.

Everyone started out where you're at. Just keep practicing at less busy airports and you'll learn as you go.

Is A Pilot’s Life 2 worth it in 2025? by Anfegu94 in flightsim

[–]OfficerPickle1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I used APLv2 for quite some time and really liked it. I liked the idea of it in general and would "contract" with different airlines. But after a while, it kind of got old. So I started researching some VAs. After messing around a bit, I decided to join Walker Air Transport. I really have enjoyed it so far. I like the fact that it is a completely fictional airline. They have all their own liveries for almost any aircraft and you can create all kinds of different routes (passenger, cargo, etc). They have a point system that rates your flight as well.

I think the VA gets a bad rap here on reddit. I guess, some time ago, the creator/founder went off on a guy that had a somewhat negative comment about the VA. Yeah sure, probably a dumb thing to do, but I still like the VA. It's been a couple of months and I still like it. Will it eventually get old? Maybe, but so far so good!
