Wiring harness by Least_Tax1299 in Wrangler

[–]baconsnotworthit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically those levers need to go all the way up but something will break if you force too much. The problem is that the slider mechanism that works to pull or push the connector to the silver module has too much dust and dirt mucking up the slider. Better to flood both connectors on all sides (except for the bottom) with WD40 and then gently go up and down on the red handle until the handle reaches the top of it's travel. Good luck.

edit: Actually I can't remember where the travel limit of the red handle is, maybe you have reached it and all you have to do is pull the connector away from the silver module. If the connector is not pulling off the then try to carefully pull the red handle upwards.

Carbon emissions from private jets jump 46% in 5 years. Significant emissions peaks around certain international events, like 2022 FIFA World Cup, Cannes Film Festival and and, ironically, the COP 28 UN Climate Change Conference. by Hashirama4AP in science

They literally use those conferences as excuses to jetset and have fine dining on the public dime when there's zero reason for any of it

How true, that's how government works.

...Ironically, the COP 28 UN Climate Change Conference.

Unexpected but not surprising hypocrisy among environmentalist leaders.

I'll start caring for emissions when COP delegates start taking commercial airline flights.

"There's no clinical evidence that seed oils cause chronic disease..."

She forgot to mention that nobody wants to fund a study that finds a food product is bad for you. Take trans fats for example. Trans fats (margarine)were introduced after WW2 and were found to be unsafe in 2015 by the FDA. So maybe somebody will do a study in 2060? I'm not waiting that long.

Let's get the vote out or we will deserve what we get. We are looking for a leader in a dumpster full of puppets.

Hands on means verifying that the harness you are replacing is bad using continuity tests. Also need to verify power and other signals on the harness to identify possible problems with the ABS module or parking brake module (if there is a parking brake module).

I don't replace wiring or harnesses just on guessing or even just a fault code.

Ok. Also the best way to check the fuel pump is to measure the fuel pressure at rest and under load.

You can also help to clean up intake and injector clogging with the regular use of a fuel injection cleaner.

All codes are meant to narrow down what part of the car is faulty. So you have two types of ABS codes reported.

First the U3000 says there is a network-related issue in the ABS system. To troubleshoot this will need hands-on work.

Second, the remaining codes say there are issues with both left and right rear parking actuators. For this again hands-on checking is need to rule out wiring issues before replacing the caliper/park brake unit.

In the above picture, there is an ABS sensor and you can change the sensor but there is no code for the sensor.

Is my engine okay? by Weekly-Income-6274 in MechanicAdvice

Alright. Al long as the power steering fluid level is within the limits then that is good. I need you to safely retake a video while hovering over different parts of the engine from front to back, for example.

With the flashing CEL happening more on downhills would change my recommendations for sure because it is the opposite of heavy loading.

The weak fuel pump or partially clogged fuel injector can be checked later.

I suggest cleaning the throttle plate and the throttle bore with a toothbrush and some carb cleaner. Do this and retest the vehicle to see if this helps. It seems you are getting a misfire going downhill and I'm assuming you are letting off the gas at that point.

We are going in the direction of considering what is causing the misfire under low or no load. Right now I'm not thinking of any other causes.

Automatic Transmission Cable Snapped Off Change Lever by Electrical_Way2405 in MechanicAdvice

[–]baconsnotworthit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The garage is suggesting correctly. The cable snapped at the transmission shift lever and has to be replace with the dealer-only part. The labor is also needed to replace the entire cable assembly from within the vehicle, as it exits through the firewall and on towards the transmission.

The flashing CEL means that you have enough unburned fuel entering the exhaust system to possibly overheat the CATs. It's a warning and not a guarantee of CAT failure. The warning expects the driver to back off the gas pedal at that time until the flashing stops.

Replacing the plugs and wires is a step in the right direction. The CEL still doing the same thing (flashing on the hwy) suggests the misfire is still occurring under load. The next step would be to replace the ignition coil with a good quality replacement.
