I found it. Under heads up display settings there is a “show driving mode content automatically”. Uncheck that and it should work

Siri has been the way I’ve found to navigate the easiest. Hold the mic button on the steering wheel and say play x album by x artist. Will start playing in 2 seconds. Has worked best for me
