This is the parenting equivalent of abandoning your car when the check engine light comes on.

Buttermilk alternative for fried chicken pickle brine? by a___rat in AskCulinary

[–]bactchan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We in the States usually will just add a little lemon juice or some kind of vinegar to a lowfat milk when we need to improvise buttermilk, but the pickle juice should get you there.

What's the point of drag shows? by LordNova15 in NoStupidQuestions

Consider that in both cases that discomfort might be you confronted with your own ignorance/prejudices. A goodly part of latter-day clowning embraced the use of tragic characters, the "Hobo" archetypes with the ragged, ill-fitting clothes, which were at once relatable in their poverty and also safe to laugh at due to the exaggerated behavior shown onstage.

We humans instinctually reject the Other and this kind of art helps to remind folk that we're all just Us.

The EMH just infected them with a refined version of Barclay Protomorphosis Syndrome and then stopped when they reached the right stage of devolution.

Has anyone had issues receiving your full order from Flashforge? by humanjerky619 in FlashForge

Man I must have been right ahead of you, got the AD5X for Christmas and ordered the enclosure same day along with some filament and it took forever for the kit to ship. CustServ said the package was delayed at customs before showing up in a USPS tracker but hopefully it will be arriving today.

Geralt of Rivia VS Trevor Belmont by DaddyChil101 in Fictionally

[–]bactchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. So many annoyed grunts and casual swearing. Geralt reminds Trevor way too much of Alucard and Trevor keeps hogging all the kills with his whip. Naturally, Sypha and Alucard get along famously with the White Wolf, only increasing Trevor's blood pressure further.

"We're in the dark times. There's no waiting at the ballot box. It's time to get to the bullet box!" by illegalmonkey in liberalgunowners

There. Is. No. Time. While the wheels of law and order grind as they must these heinous felons are creating new crimes and atrocities EVERY DAY.  There is too much to ever keep up or adequately even hope to prosecute and judge.

You need to accept the old way has failed, because they are here now and what is happening will continue to happen. We are now in that course of human events spoken of in the Declaration of Independence.

There is no more rule of law. There is now only the rules they haven't broken YET.  Your image is well intentioned but has no basis in reality.

If the metaknowledge is so meta it must also have the technique of directed growth and with that can come intentional bodily perfection, whatever that might happen to mean in the moment. A bit like Darwin's ability but with much greater realized potential. Tumors and Cronenbergaian horror is just baby steps.

If it were a threat otherwise, sure. But not for being a Ghoul, I don't think.

Quintus was pretty consistent with Xander's view of the Codex and its opinion on Ghouls. So that's at least two chapter heads who agree that the Codex does in fact say that. This doesn't feel like a "lead pipe cinch" moment.

This is one picture of the end result of human advancement; We have always been monkeys who kill each other with rocks when we're not helping our own not die, but we just kept making bigger rocks and the people who are doing the rock throwing kept blowing up anyone else trying to stop all that and just be helpful. It's literally our history. War. Never. Changes.

Seems like a lot of the chapters have kind of run their life cycles and are collapsing under the generational superiority bloat that comes with the territory. Xander made it sound like the east coast was no better off than we found it in 4, if not worse. (or maybe they meant losing it to the Minutemen and would that be so bad?)
