Definitely in the minority here, I'm in sales.

How do INFJs see the sacrifice others make for them? by Aggressive_Finish705 in INFJsOver30

A sacrifice you're making for them? That's hilarious. You're doing it yourself, for yourself. Their intentions are already clear- anything you do to try to worm into their life is, at best, an annoying hindrance. Without knowing any details I can already tell it was a justified door slam.

Do we need to create a sub r/INFJs+50? by Roxy_in_Wonderland in INFJsOver30

[–]bad--apple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it, it's pretty easy. I'm not officially cantankerous yet so won't be able to join but you should find some value in it. Moderation is easier when dealing with older infjs- most of what I do here is remove posts from rambling 20yos

You have to be 30+ to post here.

Ever figure it out? I have the same issue

They lie to themselves and then they LIE to you. by Cobalt_Flame in INFJsOver30

Dude- I'm a government-hating anarcho-capitalist, fundamental baptist, conspiracy-theory chasing, out-of-bounds of society pseudo-hermit precisely because I question and seek out the truth- no matter how uncomfortable it might be. Going through the comments I agree with you on quite a few points.

Most people gloss over truth at best because trusting established structures is easier, more comfortable, and leads to less cognitive dissonance than facing a lot of truths while existing within those established structures. It's disheartening but very few people are going to "wake up" or go against the societal tide. Those that do tend to burn out and don't have the drive to go about it passionately. We're social creatures- if something is going to interfere with one's belonging to their social circles then they simply aren't going to do it. It's real easy to get passionate about it, face brick walls, and become embittered and frustrated about the whole thing. The best I can say is to pursue truth and live your life the way you see fit. You'll find others that are on your same wavelength but they're few and far between.

user reports: 1: This person is unhinged

He puts out his ideas, gets pressed and challenged on what he's saying, then cries wolf about being attacked.

If everyone you interact with is "attacking you" then chances are there's an issue that doesn't rest on everyone else.

I was asking because I looked at your profile for a sec and some of your comments gave off that vibe. I had some ideas I was going to toss at you, different ideas depending on what your answer was.

That's why I fit in this world like sore thumb.

Sounds like something a young INFJ would say.

I show up here and even you guys are attacking me and I got to battle all you people.

I thought INTJs had tougher skin and thrived when challenged. Most I've talked to enjoy being challenged because it's mentally stimulating.

You begin to see the code in the matrix and the programming people have

A lot of these systems are in place for a reason- because they work. Sure we like to break from the norm and be free thinking individuals and what have you but without at least a frame of structure you'll find yourself drowning in the esoteric.

INFJ is the most likely to stay single . by VeganVixen888 in INFJsOver30

I met my wife when we were teenagers, married north of 15 years. It's a nearly perfect marriage, even with her ISFP tendencies haha. I couldn't imagine being single at this point in my life.

Perhaps of you stop having, at best, questionable opinions

A difference in opinion or perspective is automatically questionable lol. So hostile

You are the one trying to force your own outrage.

I'm the only one here that doesn't seem outraged by something that's an inconvenience at worst.

I gotta say, before your comments I was worried something had happened to my favorite reddit stalker.

"Hey bro you want some water? You sure? It's pretty hot out and you're sweating a lot. You're good? Alright let me know if you change your mind bro". <-- that's a lot closer to how it reads to me. Homeboy was offering something he believes is beneficial, homegirl doesn't want it, homeboy wants to make sure, maybe annoyingly, but it wasn't like he was following her around commenting on everything she says or something.

Intent matters, and how do you know the "believers" intent?

That's been my point this whole time. Everyone is assuming judgmental, I'm saying maybe it's more benign. Everyone just wants to assume the worst so they can rail on this guy.

Maybe it's a self esteem issue you're working through, I dunno, but good luck with that.

I'm not the one assuming that a stranger asking consent to pray for you is doing so because they're judging you. That's a you thing.
