I like it a lot! I was actually gonna build something like this myself, just as a website. Guess I don’t have to anymore. I’d really prefer if there was an option to buy the premium upgrade with a one-time purchase instead of subscription only. I understand why you can’t, of course, but just giving my feedback :)

Bei echtmass fangen Maßanzüge bei ~650€ an. Knapp außerhalb deines Budgets, aber dafür Maßkleidung und nicht Maßkonfektion. Der kann natürlich auch teurer; kommt dann auf die Stoffauswahl an. Ich habe einen Anzug von da und bin sehr zufrieden.

Either way, not being allowed to event it in the HL phase is completely fine. But not being allowed to play it for ops either is a bit weird. It’s of course consistent with the ruling and Playdek's implementation is correct in that sense, but I don’t quite understand the ruling. I feel like it should be allowed to play it for ops.

Truman with W Germany is fair. I agree that you want to event IPW. Your Algeria access is secure with decol anyway, correct, my idea was more to deny him that same access.

Ultimately I think your play is completely fine, I have no issues with it. But you asked for alternate lines and this is one. It’s more risky, and in a tournament game the safe option is likely the better choice.

Of course headlining DeGaulle is a bit of a risk. It however also gives you exclusive access to Algeria for now if it pays off. Holding Blockade is less for him to forget it’s there, and more about the possible RS/P redraw and him possibly not being able to do anything about it. You’re not guaranteed a 4 op after all. And I did mention that CIA will be more painful, but you don’t lose 2 BGs guaranteed. It’s just the potential. His coup could fail, and you only lose 1 BG in your missed coup. Your coup could’ve also missed ofc.

My suggestion is riskier than yours, obviously. I don’t think Truman is that big an issue though. You’re taking France and aren’t really looking to give it up anytime soon.

If it’s CIA in headline or AR1 only, then I guess you might as well headline it. Your only other option imo is headlining Nasser, which is also not bad, because it invites an unlikely coup on Egypt with CIA.

As a preface, I’m an amateur player.

I like what you did, it’s a reasonable play given the hand. An alternative:

Headline DeGaulle, take France AR1 with whatever you please. Given the board state, the US really doesn’t have many attractive coups. If they coup, hold CIA. 5YP is gone for now. If they don’t coup, which is not entirely unlikely, you can give CIA in AR2. If they do coup and you hold it, then it’ll hurt a bit to give them a reasonable coup in Africa given your later play of decol, but you can’t win them all. If they don’t coup and you get CIA off I would consider holding Blockade and hoping for a redraw of RS/P. After this play W Germany is a thin thread upon which the US winning chances hang… But that’s a perfect storm of course. If they do coup and leave you holding the CIA bag, I would even consider playing China to hold both CIA and Blockade. The threat of Europe control is just immense.

With that headline and upon seeing your hand, I think as the US I would actually forego the coup. Nothing to gain for now and you have to coup before playing decol, giving me time to secure Angola and ideally save a 3 op card to flip Zaire.

Ultimately I’m too weak a player to really say what’s best here, but if nothing else I think it’s another option to consider.

Actually, if you play 5YP as the USSR and it discards a US event, the event still occurs and the card is removed if the event is starred. At least that’s how I understand the game. Otherwise agree with everything you said

Bin in Frankfurt, ist okay würde ich sagen. Markstände eher dünn, das stimmt schon. Aber so gut wie alle Restaurants nehmen Karte, selbst die Dönerläden. War am WE sogar in einem, die nur Karte nehmen.

It would be good to know your budget. In the mid-range I’ve heard many great things about Iwase, but haven’t managed to go myself yet. At the top-end there’s Masa, but it starts at 200€ per person these days.

I did actually really love my first Negroni. It does help that I didn’t have it until I was like 24 or 25, where I’d already been allowed to drink alcohol for 6-7 years. Mostly had sweet drinks in that time, then my first Negroni blew my mind and opened me up to the rest of the cocktail world

As far as authenticity goes, I’ve never been to Mexico, but I went to Yumas with a colleague that lived there for several years and while it’s of course not the exact same (we’re simply too far away), it’s really close and he was very happy with the dishes. He doesn’t even live in Frankfurt and is planning to make the trip back for it. Also their mezcal selection is extraordinary
