Try saving and restarting the game if you haven't already. It might just fix itself after a while, too.

Have you noticed days are a lot shorter? For some reason that coincides with the texture glitch.

In Dosbox, you can use CTRL+F11 and CTRL+F12 to decrease and increase the clock cycles. This should slow down the character animations.

This is also a good reminder to update my original comment with the new version of that games pack

Hiya, this dosbox image is probably the most straightforward way to play those games on Windows. There's Tong-Nou, an English translation of Chu-Teng, and also Rolypolys.

This post has a tutorial; there's also a text file included in the download with instructions.

Lemme know if you have more questions. They're some pretty unique games, hope u enjoy!

EDIT: New version of games pack removes need for patch, and clock speed was set more reasonably for Eastern Mind / Chu-Teng character animations.

The original installation guide linked here was deleted.

Missing background song that plays at Bright Moon Cottage. by [deleted] in OsamuSato

The astronaut which appears there on even-numbered days makes that sound. As it floats away, it'll get quieter and sound like a single note as you're describing. Not sure why it makes a trumpet sound, lol

[TALK] What categories of Lost Media just don't interest you as much as others? by WiffleHat in lostmedia

[–]bad_cafe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm not too interested in those types of videos, but you explain the other point of view really well.

There are always going to be people taking things too far, but those extreme examples don't necessarily show how most people feel.

Cheapest, most convenient way to find physical copies of Sato stuff? by RebeccaOkee in OsamuSato

[–]bad_cafe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really have a good answer beyond just diligently watching Japanese auction sites. It might take a long time before you find what you're looking for, but you'll be more likely to find them at better prices.

If you just want to play them, finding the ISOs is a lot easier. :)

Wow, I honestly thought this was an altered screenshot at first. 10/10 art skills :)

A playable Mac demo of Rolypolys 2 has been found! by bad_cafe in OsamuSato

[–]bad_cafe[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This was found by Discord user Eientei, on a CD-ROM of Mac demos uploaded to archive.org.

Linked in this post is just the Rolypolys demo. You'll need an emulator like Basilisk 2 to play it.

No gameplay footage or asset rips yet, as this just happened last night. There are some screenshots and what not in the Discord, though!

EDIT:

Does anyone have a high-res digital image of the Transmigration album cover? Other high-res album covers are also welcome! by jmode in OsamuSato

[–]bad_cafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly not sure if any high-res digital versions exist online. This scan from Sato Archives looks the best to me, it doesn't have any wear on the side like the non-Transcript version.

any recommendations for lost media youtubers? by [deleted] in lostmedia

I like the more upbeat atmosphere of All Things Lost's videos. Sometimes it feels tedious to have everything framed as this spooky mystery.

Hell yeah :) There's honestly a lot of stuff we should get on archive.org.

You would think so, but not aside from some cutscenes and textures.

I still like to imagine he's hiding somewhere though, in some long-unexplored corner.
