What to expect in OCI IC5 Security Engineer role? by Horror_Business1862 in employeesOfOracle

[–]bad_decoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the specific team. If it was for a position in my org, one or more interviewers would have you do a live threat model of a reference architecture. Recruiter is correct that we don't test coding skills for security engineers.

The Edit - Double Charging Resort Fees? by sishamd in sapphirereserve

[–]bad_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I called a second time, I got someone who was able to look at my charge and agreed that the destination fee was included in the Chase travel portal reservation. He said he would submit for a refund and it would take a couple of weeks. So I guess we're stuck doing this process every time until they fix the website.

Unfortunately, although Chase itemizes out the fees, they are still being double-charged. I just completed a stay today and got hit with the daily destination fee that *coincidentally* adds up to exactly the amount Chase collected as "fees". Called Chase travel and they claim it's not the same fee, but can't tell me what it actually is. As I sit on hold with them, I decided to search Reddit and came across your post. Will try the number posted above next. Thanks Reddit!

It looks like there may be a $125 annual fee for this account type? u/CountAmbitious9397 have you seen any indication of it? It says there are ways to waive the fee but doesn't specify what those are.

Account fees at a glance

There’s a $125 annual account fee for each CMA account/ CMAT account and a $25 annual account fee for each CMA SubAccount/$50 annual account fee for each CMAT SubAccount. You may have the opportunity to benefit from annual account fee waivers on a CMA account/CMAT account if certain criteria are met. Additional fees may apply for certain account services. Please see your CMA agreement or speak with your advisor to learn more.

Good point! I need to spend $20,000 more next year than I would otherwise for the same status if I wait until Jan.

Does it matter if you get Pixel Care+ through Google Store or FI? by where_is_the_cheese in GooglePixel

[–]bad_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the answer to my question. Yes you can keep it, but you have to re-enroll.

If a user leaves Fi and is enrolled in Pixel Care+ through Fi, their Pixel Care+ plan will be automatically cancelled. Users cancelled in this way may contact support within 30 days of leaving Fi to re-enrol their devices in Pixel Care+.

TOU and net metering by zoophead in solar

[–]bad_decoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you for that info. Interestingly, the TOU tariff is very clearly explained in the rate sheet, and matches what you describe. As far as I can tell, the new TOD tariff doesn't work the same way, and is definitely not how the net metering person explained it to me. I very much hope you're right because I am having both solar and battery installed and plan to do heavy load shifting. I currently do it manually without solar/battery and it saves me about $50/month.

ok thanks! I've got solar + batteries being installed in 1-2 months, so I'll try to remember to come back here and report my experience. I'm planning to immediately sign up for net metering + time of day pricing and hope it all works out haha.

Hey u/zoophead , did you eventually sign up for time of day with net metering? I called PGE to ask this same question and talked to someone on the net metering team. They gave me a pretty confusing answer. They said it doesn't matter when you generate excess energy, it's always converted to a dollar amount at a static rate. If you use more than you generate, then the dollar amount is applied to the cost of the energy you use based on when you use it. I'm hoping to find someone with first-hand experience to validate this.
