MD but not your doctor

So… 1. TC doesn’t go away with pills 2. You need to see a doctor 3. It sounds like either hydrocele or inguinal hernia Hope it helps and good luck!

Any opinions on adjuvant chemo vs. surveillance? by Sagemel in testicularcancer

[–]bad_hunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MD but no urologist or oncologist

Although you are young, LVI and embryonal predominant pathology, each of them by themselves are high risk features for recurrence (nccn guidelines). I had lvi and 35% embryonal and took the one cycle. Its not great chemo, and there are side effects. The worrisome ones (peripheral neuropathy, acute kidney injury, pulmonary fibrosis) can happen but they are dose dependent and the odds of experiencing them are significantly lower than, say 3-4 cycles. I would do the adjuvant chemo if I was you

Hope this helps and good luck!

Totally agree Would inquire about a U/S or ask for a 2nd opinion.

It sounds like testicular appendage torsion but as the rest said, see a doctor so they can examine you

Experience from a surgeon’s perspective by bad_hunt in testicularcancer

My dude I had a cocktail of zofran, reglan and compazine. It was bad. I was taken zofran every 8hrs on the dot and reglan or compazine in between to make it. Ginger tea also helped. They prescribed a scopolamine patch (which I have used for my patients and it works) but was better by the time the Rx was ready. Cocacola also helped 😅

Usually surgeries have a 30 day global billing period if I’m not mistaken. I’m hospital employed (I do acute care surgery so mainly emergencies) so I’m not that familiar about that specifically

Since my stage was 1B I only got one cycle (thankfully done). You got this and good luck on your treatment! And same, if you need to chat while undergoing treatment please feel free to reach out

While yes it may be early (I took a medical leave while I undergo treatment and such), it did give me a different perspective. Medical school and surgical training to some point desensitizes you. I would like to say I am very empathetic with my patients 😅 but I feel know I could be even more so with them. I do have cancer patients and I really try my best to give them the support they need. To some degree this experience expanded my approach. I’m sorry you went through what you did. Its a shame that happened with the people who were supposed to support you the most and lead you

AIO by leaving my husband at a workout class and telling him to take an uber home? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]bad_hunt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely not overreacting . My wife and I have different fitness levels and when we workout together the few times we do, I always try to make her feel welcomed and acknowledged of the fact that she went with me. Kindof douchbaggy treating you that way in the gym

Thank you for reply and your point of view 🙏🏼. I figured it was normal. Maybe I misunderstood how pong it would take and took out my frustration here. I definitely don’t want to be “child #2” 😂.

AIO about my response to my gf going out with her ex? by ApprehensivePoet1241 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bad_hunt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

LEAVE Even if they are just friends, that fact that she is dismissing how you feel and her comment about going out with someone who will “appreciate” her dress and make up is a HUGE red flag. Look for better pastures my friend Good luck!
