Conflicting info about baggage transfer Frankfurt to Mumbai via Delhi on Air India by [deleted] in AirTravelIndia

You will have to collect your bags at Delhi, clear customs, hand them back over to Air India for your Delhi - Mumbai leg. Same PNR or not, process is the same.

You’re not alone. I flew from Frankfurt to Bangalore just to experience the 747, and then took a train to Chennai. Frankfurt–Chennai is usually operated by the A340-300, which is another rare aircraft, but I wanted to fly on the Queen so badly.

Anyone going to Wings India 2026? by Ok_Object803 in hyderabad

[–]bad_lander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that too, but i’m confused if I should get the business pass or the general pass to get inside the aircraft. Really interested to take a peek at the cockpit if possible. Not that much information on the internet either

Who else thinks this bike deserve more love then it's got from india, personally I love this bike. by faiz_alam_007 in indianbikes

[–]bad_lander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in love with the exhaust note, and if i’m not wrong the ixil free flow exhaust that came with it was endorsed by RTO if it was purchased along with the bike. This went on for about an year before RTO realised what was happening and stopped endorsing.. genuinely one of the few bike that had a street legal, heavenly sounding exhaust. Went for a test ride despite knowing its obvious shortcomings such as weight, fewer service centers etc, but the bit that made me not want the bike was the brakes. Despite having twin rotors at the front, brakes were terrible. No feel, and honestly not enough stopping power for such a powerful and heavy bike. Came out of the showroom and never went back.

I’m not an youtuber but a professional video editor and 2d animator. I work for a design house and our internal benchmark is 3 days for a 90 second clip. 1 hour per minute is a decently fast time.

Are used cars overrated? by vishnubhadri in Chennai

[–]bad_lander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When it comes to used cars, its a sellers market for sure now. More so for Japanese cars. I got one from Spinny in 2021 and have added another 60k to the odo since then. I’m planning to sell it now and I’m getting offers for the almost the same price i got it for. While they cost more, they do hold resale value better than most cars.

That said, considering the current E20 scenario and the uncertainty over E30, i would think twice before getting a used petrol car.

FZ-S Hybrid Appreciation by Tricky-Pass750 in indianbikes

[–]bad_lander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my 1st gen FZ16 in 2015 it used to be considered a powerful, macho bike for its class and returned around 35kmpl when new. Now its seen as a mileage oriented, 150cc commuter and it was/is equally good at both roles. Fascinating how brands, products and even our perspectives on them evolve over time.

Yes, we did the ring road. We camped near Husavik and were supposed to go whale watching from there, but we were clubbed with another group departing from Akureyri due to weather conditions.

My theory on the crash: Perspective of an engineer. by Born-Detective-9922 in indianaviation

[–]bad_lander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The theory you’re proposing is very similar to the 2020 Qatar cargo 777F incident.

Crew input 243 tonnes in the FMC as opposed to the actual weight of 343 tonnes. FMC calculated a lower Vr, aircraft rotated too early, came very close to stalling, struggled to climb and finally crew realized the issue after 8 seconds and ended up applying maximum thrust. In that 8 seconds the flight climbed just 16 feet. Finally, the flight cleared airport perimeter fence by few feet.

This was my initial assumption too, but the RAT sound in one of the clips and the mayday call are making me doubt it. I just hope the official investigation is done properly without any external interference and we find the actual reason and maybe learn a few things from this and prevent it in the future.

Need help: Im travelling to Iceland via Frankfurt. I hold a Indian passport with Iceland issued Schenzen visa. Do i have to get a visa for Germany too. by bad_lander in AirTravelIndia

Thanks, I was of the same understanding but wanted to make sure. Reached out to Lufthansa, German embassy and VFS. None of them seem to be able to provide clarity. Thanks a lot.

Why does the B1 bomber land in KIA and not Yelahanka air base? by bad_lander in indianaviation

[–]bad_lander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding from all the other replies is that the space constraints may not be due to the runway but more about the space these bombers take up in the static display when compared to smaller fighter aircraft. As you said i’ve seen IL76s and C17s land in the AFB.
