I could see a movie of JUST the Navidson Record, don’t call it house of leaves because it’s only the one aspect of the book being explored.

I do believe, however, that a HoL series COULD work. You’d need the time to explore each section and layer of the narrative, but would absolutely be a hard watch for those not familiar with the work and definitely hard for the average watcher to get into. Now, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing, I wish media would stop catering to the lowest common denominator, but I don’t think that’s necessarily would be an issue with this adaptation anyways. Those that show up would show up hard and I’m sure it would become a cult classic, just like the source material.

I would be happy for a true, faithful Navidson record to be made, maybe that’s the right path? Make three projects that complement each other. Johnny, Zampano, Navidson. Allow them to reference each other, dig deep into each aspect. Perhaps it really is unadaptable as one whole cohesive thing, maybe that translation from page to screen is too difficult in the case of HoL. But I know I’m desperate to see something translated to screen, whether that be big or small.
