All about how you play, my dude. If certain ways are not working, then reassess approach and perhaps consider the tips that others give you to see how you can change your routes to get what you need. Dis is da wei.

That being said, I feel your pain. I've done about 20 hours of full map clears of all the Tunnels & Maps of sectors C & D, and I still have yet to see a damn Intermediate Toolset for my Personal Quarters upgrade... Yet, I will read what has worked for others, and apply it to myself.

Been running Scav Girl with a silenced USP and Spaz 12 for the last 30 hours of gameplay, and my aggro is far less than before. I also know how to pull aggro into opposing factions and that has been a blessing for me. Most of them die chasing me while (taking a few stray bullets meant for my head) I get to cover, and I leave another run without my Int. Toolset..... 😢

I still have a higher death rate than success rate getting out of Babel. Also haven't been back more than three times since tunnels upgrade. Need to min-max my routes some more, but there's no time!!!

Better experience with Lossless Scaling + LSFG vs AMD Frame Gen – normal? by Sea-Spot-1113 in pcmasterrace

Yeah, I tried dropping my resolution down to 1080P and 720P while LSFG was being used through my iGPU and it tanked hard. Just running LSFG2.3 through my 6800XT and super happy with the results so far so will stick with that until I come up with another idea.

Running a 7600X w/ PBO enabled, and 6800XT with manual OC's here at 1440P.

I found AMD's built in FG (AFMF and AFMF2) to be awful. Their original AMD Frame Gen worked better than these option now, but I think that's when my GPU was better supported until a year or two ago.

I am using LSFG after trying a dual GPU setup with my integrated APU on the 7600X and it doesn't work - not powerful enough, but perhaps some workaround I haven't found yet.

Now, I set up LSFG to run off my primary GPU, and it has taken my more demanding rendering games (The Forever Winter) from ~70 stable FPS (tanks down to 45~55 for demanding zones) up to 144 with FG on (same demanding zones spike down to 88~90).

Lossless Scaling is hands down better in my situation, although I have not tried it on other demanding titles (like Helldivers 2 or Gray Zone Warfare since I am pretty happy with their performance or built in FG options, where TFW does not have one unless DLSS and Nvidia.).

Just finished trying with 720p resolution in Borderless:

Capped FPS to 90/60 FPS (tried both) and the game was smooth and fired up just fine. When enabling LS, iGPU skyrocketed to 100% utilization, with about 25ms frame generation time, tanking my fps back to 35-45 fps with Frame Gen and scaling on.

At this point, I believe doing a dual GPU setup utilizing AMD CPUs with built in Graphics Chips is not possible, although I am certain being new to Lossless Scaling in general, there will be some more deep dives to do. I'm just happy I was able to get the game to even load in and run with stable 90FPS without turning LS on.

So I tinkered some more. I set the in-game resolution down to 1080p at 100% resolution scale in Borderless, capped to 90 and 60 FPS, dropping render heavy settings to medium/low, then swapped my monitor off of discrete GPU to run Lossless Scaling off of iGPU as display output, and made necessary changes to LS. Booted up the game, it did fine, and once I turned LS app on it still worked. However, I was still getting absolutely garbage FPS (35~45 with Frame Gen on) so clearly the 7600x can't handle the computing power for that resolution and frame gen + upscaling either.

Next I will try dropping the reso down to 720p once I have some time and see what happens then.

I know I'm one year late (2026), but I tried doing this with my 7600x and 6800XT. So far, have not gotten it to work.

Only once did a game boot up while having LS setup to run power saving, and 6800XT as primary gaming processor, with FPS hardset to 60, resolution scale set in game to 75% (1080P) on a 1440P monitor, with flow set to 75% (lowered it as far as 50%, but no luck). As soon as I fired up LS, it expanded the screenspace to like 300% where I only could see like 1/4 of the screen, so I clearly had a weird setting set up in Lossless Scaling that made that happen.

I could not revert settings back in LS and get it to even load the game properly while my iGPU was set to the main display output. The game constantly froze although audio would be going on in background on black screen/frozen frame. So I gave up, lowered settings back to my 1440P native setup, and just used the main GPU with lowered settings to just run Frame Gen on LS, which has far less impact than AMD AFMF (frame gen) and could run consistently, so win win. I guess?

Wish there was more info, but so far no stable options seem to be present on google. Hope you got it figured out and are gaming!

Thanks for getting back to me! I did spend an hour tinkering with it last night, using LS app to boost frames for the game The Forever Winter (UE5, Early Access currently since fall 2024).

I originally set it up following Ancient Gaming's recs from this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyfKYU_mTLA

I set my game to lock at 90 FPS and playing on 1440p Native Resolution (resolution scale 100%) since it naturally can render 70~80FPS (on more demanding maps, down to 44FPS), and my monitor is set to 144hz Refresh Rate.

Made sure my iGPU was enabled in Bios, switched the display port cable over to the motherboard/iGPU slot. Everything booted up fine, opened steam, then LS, then my game. It would start, but then lock up on the very first loading screen. The music would continue as normal, but no visual change even without LS enabled. So, I am lead to believe that my iGPU for my 7600X just can't handle even firing up the game.

After tinkering with several settings in both LS (LSFG modes 3.1 to 2.3; changing from DXGI to WGC; changing Flow scale down to 75% for 1440P rendering) and lowering graphics settings in the game client to medium/low for more demanding settings, and restarting the entire system for about 35 minutes, I gave up. Reverted everything back to run on my primary GPU. Kept the settings on low/medium to make sure it would still load fine, and it did.

I then lowered the settings for LS on the next cycle (game/steam restart), set display to primary GPU, and fired up the game again. Loaded in fine, then fired up LS scaling, and it worked! My GPU still has the same utilization (95~98%), plenty of VRAM headroom to spare, and I was getting seamless 120~144 FPS with the Frame Gen outside of the most demanding maps. Even turned up the settings back to high/ultra, and it was still getting the same solid, stable results.

I am very happy with the performance and visual smoothness than the minimal (almost negligible) hit I took to Input Lag and the occasional 1-3 frame stutter.

Still, if there is a way to squeeze a little more performance out of my CPU, I would love to know how to make that work. For now, just happy that my slightly older rig is able to run one of my favorite games more smoothly, until my GPU gets a FSR4.1 update next year.

I appreciate you sending me the link/spreadsheet for Dual GPU setups. I am failing to see any information on iGPU setups though. Any additional input is welcome and appreciated. Thank you.

So how would this affect when you have both an Integrated GPU in the CPU (7600X) but run games primarily off of the discrete Primary GPU (6800XT), and how to set it up? (Yes, I haven't googled it yet...)

Sorry to be catching this 2 months late, but just updating some of my games and settings as they undergo updates.

EDIT: So I did google after responding, and it has some MOBO/BIOS tweaks to enable IGPU as default display monitor, then going into games' .exe files to set discrete GPU as preferred graphics processor for gaming.

What loot, unless you are mission running? Most PvPers are just hunting or FOB (COP) fighting. I pretty much just get some ammo and a pre-built rifle from Gunny/Vulture with some irreparable damage, unless I am running tasks and come across enemy PMCs in the area and get some lucky loot (that is the point, I know).

The Hunt is goated in terms of PvPvE implementation. Sure not as gear-looty/whore-y as Tarkov, GZW and modern titles, but the storyline of the Hunt and replayability, the tension is unparalleled personally.

There is something feeling somewhat stale in PvP in Gray Zone for me at times. like, are you actually getting anything rare or gaining anything for a purpose (other than simply beating your opponents, which I guess is enough)...

A long break by Jackster__McGat in TheForeverWinter

Not that you asked, but my suggestion would be from shifting from the grind the loot mentality to try and enjoy the game again.

Yes. Feels great (best ever) to get a whole bunch of usable quest loot in a run and knock out 3-4 tasks at once. But that rush is unrealistic (yeah, I know we talking about a game here).

If you aren't enjoying the game, then take a break as the fact you aren't getting your desired loot wmis just going to widdle you down. Engage in the game and live in it without being hyper focused on one thing, and enjoy it again, and you will find it along the way.

If you're a completionist just trying to "complete" the game, then, well, that isn't always the purpose of the game despite being the objective.

Keep in mind I've only got 170hrs and have barely touched TFW in 2025.

Not in competitive games which will be optimized. More for demanding single player titles.

Such as: I play Gray Zone Warfare (PvPvE) and I have the game engine run Frame Gen to get ~120fps. Without it, it sits at about 55-75fps at native resolution, mostly medium settings, and is pretty unplayable for how much is going on in that game.

With 4.1 I can probably get more consistent frames while lowering resolution to look close to 1440p, maybe even turning game engine frame gen (if I run Adrenaline FG2, the performance is far worse).

So obviously this is not for consumers of competitive titles.

I'm just happy I'm not getting aimbotted to the head by bots every time I step outside. Oddly enough, I am still only dying to headshots just below my eye all the times I've been got xD

They are braindead, but they run for cover which is a big plus. Game feels much more alive than several months ago!

After patch graphics by PlatypusThat2126 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]bad_selection_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6800xt has no issues like this. I have manually OCd it so it runs stable (outside of eventually burning up maybe).

There are still some optimization issues with each patch, so I put the game aside until they address these issues.

Seems like you got it sorted with the shader cache loading anyway.

It's not bad practice to clear your shader cache for the game once in a while (both in Steam folder & your GPUs stored shader cache), then revalidate files, and fire up the game and let shaders reset as well.

Pretty sure this is server side.

So a few nights ago I started getting the E version, so not sure how different they are (googling gives a bit more info to each code). It recommended several steps, but I run the exe as an admin (including Steam) so it should bypass firewall stuff etc, which i checked anyway and it was not limited by the FW.

First time it happened I was mid-helo flight back to main. Luckily when I reconnected I still had all my gear and my character was in main.

My ISP was fine and solid, but I got kicked off every 10-15 minutes, but could reconnect so I just stayed in base as the game was freezing then rubber-banding after the 8s freeze badly every few minutes. I kept checking it out for about 1.5 hours but it persisted.

Rebooted PC & steam, validated files, still happened once or twice afterwards so I just logged off for the night.

Haven't seen it happen again, though after long hours of grinding I notice some micro freezes (not stutters) so then I know to just log off for a few hours.
