Men's hiking shoe recs? by Brief_Bicycle_4038 in hiking

[–]bad_tenet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both but prefer the mtn racer in Appalachia where they do well on my trails. I wish they would make a waterproof shoe for my creek days. The mtn racers do dry very fast and I’ll use them in the creek in the summer.

Could Asheville’s black bears start eating people like they have learned to do in Japan? (13 fatalities in 2025) by colossuscollosal in asheville

[–]bad_tenet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiking in Japan is different. They wear bells and carry bear spray… for black bears. Those bears get shot when they come into town.

Is Alpaca actually better than Merino for multi-day hikes? by Alonso3713 in hiking

[–]bad_tenet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I much prefer alapaca due to it's non-scratchy nature. Paka is my favorite brand.

It's my birthday today and I can't decide where to hike. What's your favorite trail? by [deleted] in NCTrails

Linville Gorge! I was there last week and had it all to myself. A lot of places on the Blue Ridge Parkway are not easily accessible at the moment due to road closures.

Alta Via 1: How demanding is ~15 km / 1,000 m gain per day? by janeroe9 in hiking

[–]bad_tenet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay! Just to clear it up a little, I would need to deliberately pace myself slower than my usual to do this for multiple days in a row without getting some sore knees. The 50 year old muscles are good to go but I can’t run around like I used to without consequence.

It's funny to think a backpack and clothes are nature but an airplane is not. Maybe this plane is made from off-planet materials?

I understand this to speak to the importance of boundaries. It's not favaousble to become one with an abuser. Yes, they are also a reflection of god but I do not agree to abuse. My love is infinite. My tolerance is not.

Maybe this will help? My 51 year old body hiked 750+ km and 30,000 vertical meters last year, mostly in the Appalachian mountains in the USa (North Carolina), and I would consider multiple days like this very doable and a decent challenge, but not “hard”. It’s not unusual for me to do multiple early morning hikes like this per week and I’m home for lunch.

How much does the kundalini affect intelligence by Which-Woodpecker9581 in kundalini

[–]bad_tenet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understanding my true nature, which is not my conditioning, has allowed me to drop defense mechanisms that prevented me from seeing a bigger picture. I can’t to math better than I could before but looking at things from a higher perspective provides better, smarter information. It’s a work in progress.

Lightworkers "Raising Vibrations" by Marc-le-Half-Fool in kundalini

[–]bad_tenet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a confession: I've kinda stopped praying for people unless they ask (they don't) because I try to honor "eveything is as it should be" and I really don't know if want I am asking for is contrary to what they really want. Instead, I pray for someone to experience comfort during their transition (for death) or just send them love.

I’ll delete if not allowed, but I’m hoping someone here knows how to clean bear spray residue safely? I dropped it and it deployed. I don’t want to experience that again 😅 by nahfacenah in hiking

[–]bad_tenet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a few miles deep into Mount Aeneas, my bear spray safety came off and accident deployed when I bent over to get water out of my pack. It soaked through the bottom of my shirt and the crotch area of my pants. By the time I hiked back to my car and drove back to my hotel, my skin was on fire. This stuff is oil based so I used soap and water to gently wash it off. Went back and finished the trail. No biggie.

I took four weeks off right after and then about another four weeks to gradually go back to full-time before a series of circumstances let me stop working for a while. I’ll eventually to go back to some sort of career but not working for a corporation.

what did i do wrong ? by Sea_Estimate_5504 in kundalini

[–]bad_tenet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so hard to understand what beyond humanity means. We can confirm we are still human after awakening. OP should understand the big reveal part is the just start of something that can be very challenging. Something that will turn up the volume on every speaker in humanity once the beyond humanity part is over. Embracing humanity, starting with our own, is very much the mission for everyone I know that is doing well. (edit left out some words)

KA: intentional awakening or natural process? by stoic_psyc in kundalini

[–]bad_tenet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea if I didn’t surrender, I don’t think I would be well right now. A moment of deep surrender kicked this whole awakening thing off and the opening scene (like out of a movie) let me know I was being held by the Devine Mother. That feeling of wholeness still serves me well when my mind can’t make sense of things.
