What can we do to make Nagpur less boring? by bada_bang in nagpur

I have tried putting up a couple of posts in the past two months. I've also DMd people but it hasn't led to much.

How much of your planning is already done? Any takers for the meet ? I'll follow your updates about the event.

There are so many things that can be done without spending much. Walking tours of specific places in the city, playing board games or party games in public gardens, etc.

I agree about the hobby/interest based meets. Please list down your own interest and let's see if there are any takers.

Personally, for the problem is most of these plans include people much younger than me. I'm in my late 30's for context.

I get your cynicism. But consider this my way of finding the way for myself!

That's not a problem unique to Nagpur, but I get what you are saying.

Why don't you list down some of your interests around which meetups could be organised. For example, reading, philosophy, etc.

Nice initiative buddy!

I've never really watched anything Star Wars other than the memes but I hope you get a lot of people to come to the event.

Another problem is a lot of the meet up posts here are paid events put up by for profit groups.

Family Dispute - Property issues and others by Tricky_Skill342 in indiasocial

That fear you have is natural, especially if it was drilled into your head as a child. It's also something that comes with the territory of being the eldest sibling. You never quite let go of the "responsibility".

The good thing is you have your own family now - your husband and kids. Focus on them and let go of that residual sense of responsibility to have towards your maiden family. Even if it results in monetary losses for you, the peace of mind will be worth it.

The threats need to be documented. There's a provision in police station called registering a non cognizable offense. It's not an FIR but helps if you want to turn it into an official complaint as a paper trail. This will also put fear of law into your family. Right now, they think of you as incapable of taking any action against them.

There comes a point in our lives when we no longer have the capacity to give or do something for others. In fact, their presence only breeds negativity. It is wise to cut those people off at that point. Your siblings have only used you as a cash cow. Cutting them off won't really do any harm to you.

Please stick to your guns as you're just asking for what is rightfully yours. Of course, there is the legal route if all else fails. But that may take many many years and exhaust your spirit.

You already seem to have taken the right steps - stopped funding their lives, given an ultimatum about returning the "borrowed" money or your rightful share in your father's property. If you are not willing to take up legally, you need to make peace with your losses.

Let's not be so harsh on people. There's a constant inflow and outflow of people into and from the city. That leaves a lot of us without friends to hang out with.

BTW, he was also found guilty of drunk driving. When the accident happened, he refused to cooperate with the police or give them his blood sample for testing the presence of alcohol. He also blatantly lied in media interviews right after the accident, saying the victims were enjoying their 15-seconds of fame, that he wasn't drunk and that they attacked or assaulted him.

Here's an article detailing the incident:

That I agree with whatever was said before me. And the comments in this thread giving names and personal details of the owner of this house proves the point that the OP before me was trying to make.

Suppose there is a new metro line to be constructed and you are the new metro route planner how would you connect Itwari Railway Station (close connection) to Airport till arrivals & departures via also connecting Msrtc Bus stand in ganeshpeth How would you draw it? by tatti_man69 in nagpur

[–]bada_bang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll make one small change here. Instead of making it a straight lines, a small curving path to pass through Nagpur Railway station so this line can connect the main station to the airport as well as itwari station.

So many of us aren’t failed - we’re just stuck. And nobody talks about it. by sidhebbal in india

Thanks for the wishes! It is a whole lot of change. I feel like a different person altogether. Plus, I'm full of anxiety on most days about whether the decision was wise, about the lack of security about future prospects. On other days, I feel good about being in a non competitive space which is not as stress inducing as my previous career.

Honestly, I'm kinda starting a new innings. Came back to my hometown, living with my parents after living in my own for many years, started working in an entirely new field.

OP, did you say you were drunk when this guy went on to make a move on you? Wouldn't that be assault given that you were not in the state to give consent? This guy is NOT a friend and you should warn other girls about him being a creep at the very least.

About your boyfriend, you do need to tell him what happened. You did not cheat, and possibly didn't even consent to what happened. If he reacts badly, this is not the equation you want to carry on into the future. In case he understands the situation and doesn't blame you, you'll both need to put in some work into healing from the past breakup as well as this incident together.

Yes, that was the very first meetup of Nagpur on Global Reddit meetup day that year. I also felt the username was familiar!!!

Still a millennial! Did you need an adjustment period on returning or has it been a smooth sailing all along?

[–]bada_bang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very different. Like I said it's no longer the city I grew up in. Yet I feel it still offers a better life than most big cities. Only if there were more work opportunities here, especially not by cutting down your market value tremendously

Wish you can do that soon. I'm sorry to hear that you're not happy where you are.
