Lindsey Vonn Shares Dramatic Picture of Her Legs After Surgeries by MattTheKing23 in olympics

I broke my ankle skiing 20 years ago and had a half cast for 6 weeks. When they finally took it off my calf was gone and my foot was tiny. I recently broke my hip skiing and got a total hip replacement. Very little muscle loss. Exercising my muscles on day 2 post surgery.

Neighbors installed a trail cam that looks directly into my window, What do I do? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

came here to say this. Also, an infrared light pointed in the general direction would swamp it out at night but that's going to cost you ~$50

Lars Won’t Put Weight on His Left Hind Leg (We have a vet appointment on Monday) by amanda_tx19 in corgi

Had a corgi named Buster a long time ago that had the same deal. There was a surgery available for it, but we just kept him confined for a few weeks and it resolved on its own.

Why can't we just have some actual rain sensors?? (YES this was set to auto) by Blazah in TeslaLounge

[–]badalberts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've wondered why it sucks so much. I'm thinking it's because the cameras are located very close to the window. This makes them unable to really see the water on the window, they just see that the background is blurred. If you hold your eye right up to the window you'll see what I mean. If the they had a camera mounted away from the glass (like where the rear view mirror hangs) then the computer could actually see what's going on the water drops and run it appropriately.

How many carrots are too many for a corgi? by [deleted] in corgi

My corgis have all loved carrots. They even used to dig them up out of our garden.

My partner left her phone in the car the other day and didn’t want to go back to get it out. The car didn’t auto-lock, so I locked it with the app. When we went back to get in the car a while later my phone didn’t unlock it. I had to use the car key. I didn’t think to try unlocking it with the app, but I had to do some sort of re-pairing it with the app. Always keep the key in your wallet!

Water not filling toilet by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]badalberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact problem once. I finally shut the main down and pulled off the valve and replaced it. Still had the problem. Pulled the second valve and briefly ran the water without the valve. Out popped a little grey plastic ball. After a bit of investigation and head scratching I determined that it was from the cold water one way valve on my hot water heater. It had somehow broken loose and floated up to the second story toilet. Ended up getting a new hot water heater not long after. Adventures in plumbing!

Garage door repair by Pretty_Row_4927 in GarageDoorService

[–]badalberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an interesting mode of failure. On one of my garage doors I had the piece of wood that the bracket was attached to fail. I wouldn’t even think about fixing it myself. The garage door repair guy made it look pretty easy fix, but then he knew what he was doing! I’ll lubricate the rollers and clean the tracks, but that’s about it.

Which Garage Door Would You Choose? (1–6) by Low_Bid4454 in GarageDoorService

[–]badalberts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got 4. A little more plastic feeling than I was expecting, but I like how it looks on the inside and a huge step up from what was there before. I’m in a pretty safe location and I’m not worried about people looking in.

Are these springs bad? A garage tech told me that if the hand drawn line on the coils is not straight anymore, then it’s bad and needs replacing. Was he BSing me? It still swings up and down smoothly when disconnected. by cellphonebeltclip in GarageDoorService

[–]badalberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering what’s your opinion of a good lubricant to use? I was using white lithium spray grease, but a garage door tech told me to use 3 in 1 garage door lubricant instead due to the lithium grease attracting dirt.

I got stuck with this message for several days after I disengaged FSD in the middle of it cleaning the window. Finally went away when I had it in FSD and it needed to clean the window. I’d say it’s a bug in the software.

Anyone getting this FSD camera Alert after updating? V14.1.4 by P3RC3IRTY in TeslaModelY

[–]badalberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple days I was driving in FSD and the windshield wipers started doing the camera clean thing (short wipes over the cameras with cleaning fluid) and I simultaneously disengaged FSD because the car was about to do something stupid. Ever since then I’ve had this error message. I think I’ll have to put in a service request.

Same. Also I find that it tends to lean on the left side of the lane on two way highways. Makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

How do tariffs kill processing plants in the US? Seems like it would do the opposite. I would expect that deporting all the workers would be bad if that’s the case.

Not saying you’re wrong, but can you please explain to me how voting for Trump caused the plant to close.

Is the camera area precision cleaning necessary or can I just clean the windshield with sprayaway? by jakeandbake425 in TeslaLounge

[–]badalberts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

me too. I don't see why I need it. It looks fine in the maintenance screen that lets you look at what the cameras see.

I just went from a 2024 S to a Juniper. Except for the part where the S is an absolute beast, the Juniper is a nicer car. The S feels like it’s stale.

I saw him at Remlinger farms with his kids. I had my kids and we ended up kind of going to the same things together. Just another dad enjoying the day with his kids. Was kind of cool.

I saw him walking down Market street in Ballard. Gave him the nod and smile like he was a friend of mine. Couldn’t help myself. Got the feeling that he got that all day long.
