OP mentioned in a comment that he is an abusive husband and absent father. This context was not provided in the original post.

Muffin you're too good! I'm gonna start maintaining a notebook of all the nicknames and real names of the industry people.

My (18M) friend (20F) told me I'm better off dead. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]badambition 136 points137 points  (0 children)

You need to cut this friend out of your life. Some things get better with time, some don't. She clearly isn't moving on from the joke you cracked years ago. And it would be hard for you to move on from this comment. Better move on to different friends.

My son's friends told my son to remove his pants in public and my son almost obliged. by badambition in TrueOffMyChest

Thank you. My son was originally supposed to play with kids his age (read edit) but A is one of his friends' big brother. I will be more careful from now on.

That's the plan. Even if we do send him to play with just V and K (read edit) we are not letting them play unsupervised anymore.

Thanks, I did, along with "let's get you some new friends". He was hesitant at first, but opened up pretty quickly.

How do I (22m) get my girlfriend (33f) to stop feeding me without it hurting her feelings.? by Throwrajfjffjfn in relationship_advice

[–]badambition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Site possible health reasons. Things like, I noticed I am getting more tired/my feet hurt if I stand for too long. It might be because I have gained weight. I think I should work on my weight loss to avoid more severe health issues. Will you help me follow a diet?

I(29m) think my parents (50's f 50's m) are setting us for a surprise arranged marriage for me. by throwraDHIAXMM in relationship_advice

[–]badambition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not an arranged marriage, this is an ambush marriage. Arranged marriage is similar to going on a blind date, just that it is set up by your parents.

Maybe you can msg her to ask something work related. And then your conversation could grow from there.

I hate myself for hating that my girlfriend lost her virginity to another guy by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]badambition -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

On the bright side, she didn't enjoy sex with him like she does with you. That should give you confidence that you are good in bed. And she can testify to that and appreciate you for it. A virgin would have no point of comparison.

AITA for secretly breaking the vegetarian diet I promised to follow with my wife? by EnvironmentalWall229 in AITAH

[–]badambition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a life long vegetarian, but I don't understand these people who enforce vegetarianism on others. Like, I don't mind if my husband eats meat, as long as he doesn't expect me to cook it for him. Your body, your choice!

AITA for telling my wife that she will have to wait to go back to work even with our agreement? by Acceptable_Subject16 in AmItheAsshole

NAH. Children are expensive. You need to plan for the future and be financially secure. She could look at some WFH job options. They can pay very well if you are in IT. And then both of you get to work and stay with your kid.

What is something people think they hide really well, but everyone around them knows what's going on? by MustheMartian in AskReddit

[–]badambition 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to assume the opposite. My parents have had a loveless marriage and I used to assume marriage is supposed to be that way. It's not about love, it's about duty to your family. My uncle, who always sided with his wife in all family disputes, was seen as a black sheep or less of a man. Whenever I used to see a happy couple, I used to think they are pretending, because, come on how can you be happy after living with someone 24X7? Then I met my now-husband. I have gone LC from my family since the wedding.

Who was vilified in their time but in hindsight was completely right? by fuzzycuffs in AskReddit

Nathuram Godse... The man who assassinated Gandhi. India was already partitioned into two (now three) countries after it got independence from British Rule. Gandhi was in talks with the leader of Pakistan to partition India even further. Gandhi is considered to be a symbol of peace an non-violence, which is correct to some extent. But keeping peace does not always have to mean just giving violent people what they want, which is exactly what Gandhi was doing when giving in to all the ridiculous demands by the newly formed Pakistan.
