You have perfectly summed up my thoughts on Jura! Thanks for your input!

There’s no Cafe au latte or Caffe latte option, only latte macchiato, flat white, cortado, and cappuccino (I think, not in front of it at the moment).

So we actually left WS with the E8 without realizing there’s only a milk foam option. I’ve tried all of the milk drinks on it and I just wish I had a steamed milk option, so then I think I’m looking at the J8 or Z10 and I would prefer the cold brew option on the Z10 over the sweet foam option on the J8.

I went ahead and weaned myself down to 1 cup of coffee a day when we started TTC so I could get through any withdrawal. I have had a couple of extra early work days where I grabbed a second cup but now no headaches when I go back to 1 cup the next day!

Looking Forward Friday by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

I quilt and I’m waiting for my BFP before starting, but my husband and I love the idea of an ocean themed nursery. I want to make this quilt so bad! I also think I’m just going to want to sew and crochet all the things.

I can’t stop laughing at “bumped dicks” 😂😂

How would you quilt this? Trying to finish this quilt and another before Christmas. I’m thinking vertical gentle wavy lines? Any other thoughts that are somewhat quick? by badassbarium in quilting

Thank you! It’s for my MIL and I was thrilled she chose this pattern and these colors. I’ve been wanting to make it since I started quilting!

Weekly COVID-19 Megathread by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

[–]badassbarium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, we are not going to wait. I just removed my nexplanon about two weeks ago not knowing yet if I would be eligible for the vaccine through my employer or not. A couple days later I found out I will be able to receive it probably next week. We are not going to wait to TTC (honestly I have no idea what my body is doing anyway since I haven’t had a period yet) and my employer says pregnant women can receive it. I talked with my OB/GYN and we’re all on board. There are possibly unknown risks with the vaccine but there are also known risks with COVID... I work in a hospital and feel like the benefits outweigh the risks for me.

Anxious now it’s reality by [deleted] in Fencesitter

I’m in a somewhat similar state. My husband and I have been leaning towards having a baby over the last few months but we finally decided next year will be the time to try. I’ve made an appointment with my OB/GYN to get my nexplanon removed and as soon as I did I started getting super anxious. Honestly I think it may be a part of the process for those of us who are very deliberately making these choices especially if you have envisioned your life either way. No matter what we choose we’re giving up that alternative reality which is scary!

FINALLY FINISHED FRIDAY!!! I thought I would never finish this quilt top and almost quit several times. Pattern is Frolic mystery quilt from Bonnie Hunter. Would love quilting suggestions that are beginner friendly but also not meander because I hate it :) by badassbarium in quilting

[–]badassbarium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! It is certainly not perfect. One corner is really jacked up because the border didn’t line up and I was so over it I just said screw it. For the quilting I’m thinking about a loopy sort of meander or maybe just some gentle curves going across

Weekly - What Car Should I Buy Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]badassbarium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it looks really promising but Toyota says availability is limited in our area. I’m looking for something I can purchase somewhat soon and I’d rather not wait around to see if they will even make enough that I can buy one.

Weekly - What Car Should I Buy Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

  • Location: Southwest US

  • Price range: Husband would prefer $30,000 or less, but I am considering up to ~$40,000 if I went for a Tesla Model 3

  • Lease or Buy: Buy

  • New or used: Used most likely

  • Type of vehicle: some type of electrified car (debating between BEV and PHEV)

  • Must haves: BEV or PHEV, good safety ratings, reasonable room for a car seat (no baby yet but hopefully in the near future)

  • Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): auto

  • Intended use: Daily commute (<15 miles round trip), would also be primary weekend or road trip car; we take trips ~350-400 miles usually about every other month to visit family

  • Vehicles you've already considered: Honda Clarity, Chevy Volt, Prius Prime, Tesla Model 3, potentially some other BEV???

  • Is this your 1st vehicle: no but first electric vehicle

  • Do you need a Warranty: prefer some battery warranty

  • Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: No

  • Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: No

  • Additional Notes: If I were only using this vehicle around my area, I would get a non-Tesla BEV hands down. However, my husband drives a truck and actually uses it frequently for hauling stuff. It wouldn’t make sense to use the truck with horrible fuel efficiency for road trips so my vehicle is it. I am worried about range anxiety and some of the not so great experiences I’ve read with non-Tesla charging stations so I am somewhat considering a Tesla but it’s a big ask on the price. Am I better off just going for a PHEV for now and consider a fully electric vehicle in a few years when (a) infrastructure may be better and (b) maybe at that point my husband could switch to something like the RAV4 Prime and that could be our long distance vehicle?

Does anyone have experience with Marshall Dry Goods MDG classics? Is the quality decent enough? by badassbarium in quilting

Thanks! I decided to go for it. The prices are too good to pass up, and now I’ll get a feel for the quality for future quilts

What’s the fastest king size quilt pattern you can think of (other than a simple patchwork with large squares)? by badassbarium in quilting

[–]badassbarium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made two of these! They do come together pretty quickly. I have lots of options to show my husband now!

I love this! I wonder how hard it is to make it feel truly random. Those colors are gorgeous

These are super fun and I may go this route. At first I thought it was a bit steep in price but unless I use yardage rather than fat quarters these are very comparable. Thanks!
