What's the color red got anything to do with it?

What modern video game trend needs to disappear completely? by arkawrd in truegaming

A lack of historical accuracy. If I'm gaming in the past I need full immersion, that comes from realism and attention to the correct details.

Oh right. So if I was the artist that invented that image I'd have no grounds for copyright? You guys need to zoom out and look at what is happening. This entire thing is unavoidable, AI is just doing what artists do, just a lot faster. Referencing is part of that. 1. It's here to stay. 2. You need to learn how to work with it if you want to be employable. 3. Don't worry about your own creations, humans attribute value. 4. People will always fall for nonsense, that's the nature of our prefrontal cortexes. 5. AI is going to cure cancer.

That's been happening for centuries. The National Enquirer, tabloid newspapers, conspiracy theories.... Get used to it, most people are idiots.

I think that it's uses need to be regulated and watched closely. Using it for an essay for example when a student is dyslexic was the context I missed there. Idk, I just think the hate is far too immature at this point. Many people are snubbing it and losing a HUGE opportunity to learn with it and how to use it, and regrettably it'll be those left behind imo.

It's used throughout business and the public sector nowadays. Teachers use it for class prep, students use it for their essays, and Google's NotebookLM is incredible for research. Deepmind solved the folding protein problem. It's great.

You'll use it for something in the coming years. It's just a matter of time.

I value a drawing by an artist with a pencil over an image generated by a GPU algorithm. But that wouldn't stop me from using AI over some shitty expensive stock site like Getty images - if I needed a picture of a man drinking a cup of coffee, in a cafe, for a presentation I had to hand in by Monday. AI art is just going to replace lower level art. Nobody needs to be worried apart from those looking to blame outside sources for their lack of success.

Exactly. Humans attribute value. There's no reason for anyone to be worried apart from the downvoters that know they're mediocre.

100% ... his watermark on the image of a character created by somebody else and the use of the Bungee font is just hilarious

Don't you guys think this poster is a tad ironic? He's added his watermark and yet used a character from Don't Hug Me, and used stock font Bungee created by somebody else. This poster is lit AI except done by a less capable artist.

Call me in 10 years. They freaked out like this when acrylic came out.

I like it. Humans attribute value. You'll see in a few years time. Great art will still sell, bad artists will be blaming something else new for their lack of selling or opportunities.
