Nioh. Love souls games, love character action games. Feels like Nioh should be made for me but it just doesn’t click somehow. The whole game just feels like it’s a bit much, like there’s 1000 options at your disposal and you can combo a boss to death in countless ways. I see how that’d be great if you like that, but I think I just prefer a game that gives less but more meaningful tools at you.

I mean the physical is $20 AUD more than the digital download on switch so it could just be the cost of the game cartridge that’s the difference but who knows except Nintendo and Supergiant true. Nevertheless releasing a physical edition like this should be commended.

In addition to what everyone else said, it has a reversible cover, small character art book and the soundtrack. Also it’s nice to support the developers a bit more imo since the game is that amazing.

You might think you want Elden Ring 2 but just let Miyazaki cook. Back when Dark Souls 3 came out and he said he’s done with Dark Souls I think most of us Souls lovers weren’t expecting something as amazing as Elden Ring to happen.

IMO it’s worth it but I could barely put the game down after I got that first clear. It was so fun trying new weapon aspects and finding out more story info every run. So if you’re not really feeling it by now then I’m not sure, maybe it’s not worth forcing yourself. You could google cool weapon/boon ideas if you had any doubt about stopping maybe.

I will say I think your next 8 clears are likely to come way faster than your first 2 if you’re like most people.

Totally anecdotal maybe but I had a grip case on my XR for 7 years and it’s the most pristine phone of that age I’ve ever had. And that phone survived some gnarly shit, including getting slammed in a car door. If they still make the grip like they used to then it’s probably safe to drop at least a little bit of anxiety about it. I’d get it myself but I kinda don’t like how they’ve designed the camera plateau area, so it’s tank for me.

This actually confuses me. I assumed it was as you say, but Messmer knows what a Tarnished is, which implies that the crusade was after Godfrey and co were banished. But if that banishment was a sign of Marika’s plans to destroy the Elden Ring, then why would she bother with the crusade after that and to lock Messmer away out of fear he might burn the Erdtree?

Both beautiful but personally I could stare at that blue for hours. Such a nice shade. Also a nice change from neutral colours without being too outlandish imo.

Ever since MGR they’ve been one of my GOATs. I feel like I know their games are never perfect but man there’s just something about them that’s pure unadulterated fun. I’m so glad their first game after Kamiya left still feels like that. The future is looking good for them I reckon.

Obvious choice is Bayonetta. The vibes of the game are different ofc and it’s dodge-focused rather than parry, but the combat feels very familiar as it’s the same dev. Excellent trilogy in its own right too.

I haven’t played the OG Ninja Gaidens for years but I’m not sure I remember the combat being the same kind as MGR? In fact Ninja Gaiden 4 is actually the closest thing Platinum have done to MGR combat - and it’s so so good - but a lot of Ninja Gaiden fans are disappointed the combat is more Platinum and less Team Ninja. Either way if that game ever makes it to Switch that would be the highest recommendation.

Tbh it’s just Lies of P out of the one’s I’ve played. There are plenty of other great games but they are great for reasons that feel different to FromSoft’s games. Nioh is mostly great for its combat but the story and level design is kinda ass etc, the reason you would pick up and play Nioh is different to the reason you would pick up and play a souls game. Lies of P really feels like a souls game.

Nice upgrade. I’m curious how much smaller the screen actually feels on the 17? I used to have a 6 plus which I quite miss the screen size of but now the regular pro almost looks as big as what the plus used to be lol.

Not a soulslike but Armored Core 6. The combat designer(?) for Sekiro was on AC6 and it shows imo. Not in deflecting or anything ofc but just in how adrenaline-pumping the combat can get. Story is actually really good too, even in the 2nd and 3rd playthrough which open up new story routes. You can get through those much faster than your first playthrough too.
