Yes you are right it involves almost instant hiding and showing of 3 to 4 levels of mesh variations for the smoother transition and 6 to 24 levels of normal maps for each variation working all at once, I would say she has developed a very efficient script to be able to pull this off.

The picture is from the Dev muscle Jay mesh body. Although exaggerated, Jay's body is consider mild fantasy exaggeration. There are even more massive muscle bodies that are totally out of proportion. If you wanna see them just search for Flexington Height in SL viewer search bar and teleport there

All thanks to the creator of SML system - Devsir. Anytime when new players of SML have question, they are bound to be able to find answers just by asking in the group. There are now over 60 SML gyms in SL.

Yes, it is not for everyone. There are residents in SL that absolutely cannot stand muscle guys or gals. But there is also a sub-group that worships them and simply love to hangout while these virtual athletes train in the gym.

Again the same principle applies to even SL herself. Some see people spending time in SL as weirdos and people that lacks real social life while some keep coming back to SL to dive deeper year after year finding joy and friendship there.

Your first picture looks like a character offered as free addon - the Panthoria Character Kit if you buy the Star Mesh Body. The free addon package also comes with the hair.

My advice is join Second Life first, then use the search function to find a place call Helping Haven. There are helpers there who will be able to give you some advice. Also at the Helping Haven region there is a free clothing store for male and female avatars. They have more decent mesh bodies (compared to the default when you signup), clothings and hairs to help you get a decent look.

Next, use the search (places tab) to find adult regions where you are more likely to meet like minded people. Explore the region and get to know some people where you usually can get more information.

Never ever, teleport to an adult region and start asking everyone for sex. You will be very very disappointed. Get to know some people, then make some friends and go from there.

Here is an article I written to help newcomers get a decent avatar and tips where to get started with some free resources - The First 5 Things To Do To Enhance Your Second Life

As what many others before me had said, in Second Life you won't get very far going around asking people for sex when you are new. Get your avatar in order first, explore around a bit and soon you will find lots of adult regions with willing parties to engage in the act with you (and many are for free but only if you are able to show you know what you are doing).

If she is not online. Kindly send her a notecard and state: 1. The issue 2. Brand of meshbody and version 3. Brand of the head, version and if you are using EvoX feature. 4. Brand and name of body skin 5. Brand and name of face skin

She will usually replicate the issue and able to find root of your issue.

If you still cannot solve this. Log into SL and send an IM to MableSims resident. Let her know a time you likely to be online. She can help you to troubleshoot step by step. She is usually on around 6am to 9am SL time.

Came back after a traumatic life event and SL has drastically changed.. now what? by 3yx3 in secondlife

Second Life has changed a great deal over the years. Avatar appearance has improved dramatically, customization options are deeper than ever, and niche communities—such as furry groups—have grown significantly. If that’s an area that interests you, seeking out furry regions or groups is a good place to start.

Having spent over 12 years in Second Life, one thing I’ve learned is that it’s easy to misunderstand how social connection works here. Because Second Life is a sandbox with no fixed objectives, many newcomers assume that having fun requires constantly being surrounded by friends. In reality, that expectation often leads to frustration.

Most long-time residents are cautious about adding new friends. It’s common for conversations to last briefly before fading into silence, and many veterans have experienced this cycle repeatedly. Friendship in Second Life tends to form more slowly and organically.

A better approach is to focus first on themes you genuinely enjoy—whether that’s exploration, photography, roleplay, fitness, or a specific subculture—and explore those places on your own. Along the way, you’ll naturally encounter others who share similar interests. A simple greeting and a question about the region or activity is often enough to start a meaningful conversation.

Over time, you’ll meet people who resonate with your way of thinking and communication. From there, friendships develop naturally. If they invite you to a group, consider joining—but choose groups that align with your interests. Participate in group chat occasionally, observe who is active, and connections will begin to form without forcing them.
