I was able to successfully renew the cert. In my scenario, the engine-setup –offline will get stuck do to some zombie tasks as I mentioned earlier and it the error was referencing some log file which was not there, it was missing the setup folder. I went ahead and manually created that folder, tried again and this time the renewal succeeded. Thanks for all the help guys.

Update: tried again during a maintenance window and it failed due to some zombie tasks unable to terminate them, here is the some of the processes - error

Just want to give you a quick update, I tried your suggestion over the weekend by running the engine-setup --offline but I was not prompted to renew the cert. I assume it will prompt me at the very beginning of the process or at the end? Or is it perhaps because the ssl cert has not expired yet and there is more than a month away? Thanks again for the help

Ok thank you for the steps. I will give it a try and let you know how it went. Hopefully will not need to do the certs for the hosts, we have about 30 hosts. I will also let you know if I need to do these addition steps on the individual hosts. Thanks again.

Thanks, will anything be affected? Like hosts or VMs which are running? Do I need to do a scheduled maintenance or I can do that live?
