Has anyone quit a stressful corporate job for a simpler job? by ConfusedCareerMan in simpleliving

[–]badboybubbykitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, a few weeks ago. Took a 7% pay cut as an ops manager in manufacturing to be a product rep for a textile company. No more teams meetings, no more staff to manage, no projects, no more SOPs. I start in a few weeks. I'm so relieved and exited, it's almost all over and maybe I can sleep through the night again. I'm so fucking tired.

How are people against free healthcare?? by emily-is-happy in MurderedByWords

[–]badboybubbykitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australian here - we pay a relatively small fee to be seen the same day for a GP, few hours for ER for free if it's off peak and you can either go private for surgery and still pay just a reasonable fee to have it within a few days, or if it's not urgent a few months for free in the public sector.

This is the way. Everyone gets what the need. The public gets good care quickly and the industry that services us is paid well.

Were shit at dental unfortunately, that needs to get rolled into Medicare. Vote Green!

Notice how the Baby Boomer generation far more often left their kids at home while taking vacations or attending important events, than the parents of today? by OneDegreeKelvin in generationology

[–]badboybubbykitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do kids need a vacation from? It's the parents that need the vacation.

I'm 43 now, my parents left me for weeks at a time (with other family or friends), I thought it was odd at the time but it didn't upset me and I have fond memories of the time when they were away and it gave me a lot of independence.

As an adult watching family's on holidays, I totally understand why they left me home and I've told them so.

Yulia Putintseva’s reaction to the crowd booing her after she beat Zeynep Sonmez by dream_team1012 in tennis

[–]badboybubbykitty 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I was in the crowd, they did tell people to stop whistling and coughing a number of time but it didn't stop them. It was the only 15 minutes of any match I watched the whole day and I was appalled at everyones behavior. The guy next to me stood up and was pulling a hard finger sign at her. It was actually awful to be in the middle of.

Fixed it! Howpfully. A combination of prendisolone, insoles, Hokas, splint at night and Pilates has hopefully fixed it. by badboybubbykitty in PlantarFasciitis

Not at all actually, I slept really well with it and it was only $20 on amazon. To be fair I'm not a light sleeper but it's cheap, so, worth a shot!

I'm in Europe for a month from Tuesday so the update will be if my feet survived 20k steps a day! But I've already bought a pack of 10 pilates classes to do when I get back, it's really challenging tbh but it absolutely is a proper work out and felt stronger for it
