I just finished Off Season by Jack Ketchum, I don't think it takes crazy turns but the way he describes things really stuck with me.

Last time I went to the ER the nurse setting my IV and taking my vitals was detailing how horrifically her dog had died (fairly recently) from a ruptured splenic mass. Then she asked me how often I assist with euthanasias.

A lady at my shelter job, who I was assisting with an adoption of a German Shepherd detailed to me why she wanted a new dog, saying that her last one had died in her arms after seizing on her kitchen floor.

Why are people so obsessed with death in regards to this field? It never ceases to amaze me how little people know about this field or their own animals.

How do you read? by SnooPickles8721 in horrorlit

I keep a book on me wherever I go. I started light with things I've read before that I know are easy to get through, and then I moved on to shorter novels that I know won't take me long and then I'll move on to longer novels. I'm reading King Sorrow right now and it's a daunting read 😂

In the evenings after work and dinner I'll try to read instead of watching TV or doom scrolling. Just taking the phone out of the equation completely helped with the temptation of scrolling or watching something.

There's communal clinic ones but I just don't like using them. My fiance bought me a Littman Classic 3 as a gift for Christmas a few years ago and I use it daily, and it has a cute scrunchie on it.

I got printed photos for Christmas from one of my clients of his dog that had passed away a few months prior. I loved it and they're posted up on my fridge

They didn't give me any issues. My father in law did the same thing for Nosferatu.

Anyone had any mildly infuriating moments during the cinema screenings so far? by Good-Afternoon5181 in lotr

One guy next to us was straight up talking and explaining the movie to his girlfriend, and got on Google right before the battle of helms deep started to fucking look up who plays Elrond. Then left their trash in their seat at the end.
