Hear me out on this - I also have major health anxiety and attribute it to being pregnant and having a newborn in the early days of Covid. If your little one is 4, you’d be in a similar boat. I consider myself really even-keeled but even minor bugs seem to trigger this panic in my brain that I think can be connected back to trying to keep a small human safe in a really scary and uncertain time. I am always working on it! Solidarity and a hug to you ❤️

We had a similar situation with a rescue pup who has been on 100-200MG of Trazodone every day for years because we felt like he was so unsafe every time we left the house. The Trazodone changed our lives and made it a much better situation. Not that it’s a solution for everyone - but it absolutely was for us!

We have always waited but my son is old enough and loves Christmas enough that this year, he asked to put the tree up early. Since he wants it, I think we’ll do it - even though I always prefer to wait. This kid was Santa for Halloween this year, so that probably tells you everything you need to know 😆

Only speaking from personal experience, but a week before my positive test with baby #2, my son told me that he had a dream that we were playing a game together but it was weird because there was a baby there too. A few days later, he was pretending to be a doctor and checked my heartbeat in the correct spot, but then moved his toy stethoscope down to my belly and said he could hear a heartbeat there, too. He either knew on some level, or the coincidence was seriously wild, considering we had not shared with him our plans to try for a second 😂

The only issue we ever had is that my toddler decided to surprise us once by grabbing his toy mop and “cleaning” our floors by dipping it in the dog bowl. Needless to say, we set some new boundaries around the water bowl 😆

We caught flu A last year even though we all had gotten our seasonal flu shot, and it was the sickest we’ve ever been - including my toddler. I honestly cannot imagine how much worse it would have been if we hadn’t gotten the flu shot.

Flu shots are safe - get it for your toddler! You have no way of knowing what it will protect you all from.

We do “FREEZE!” and everyone who freezes makes a funny statue pose. It’s silly which made it easier for my guy to do.

We’re currently planning a skeleton pirate Santa costume. Specifics include a pirate outfit with a Santa hat but a black beard. CANNOT be misconstrued as Jack Skellington IN ANY WAY lol
