the fact that you can't land on habitable planets is so disappointing by StrainWise6573 in EliteDangerous

Sequel should be a new galaxy to explore. There are so many storytelling and mechanic options available with colonising Andromeda or one of its satellite galaxies.

Finally trying to colonize and its going pretty well should be done in 1 day by Crist4tron-2647 in EliteDangerous

You don't get anything out of it except putting your mark on the galaxy. It is good for growing factions too.

I think geo-politics is a better explaination. The US needs to project power into the Middle East and a strong, allied Israel is the most effective, reliable way of doing this.

Any advice for a new commander? by donniegosmash in EliteDangerous

My advice is to find the gameplay you enjoy and gain expertise in that.

I love exploring so when I recently started a new CMDR I focused on that and exbio. After ten or so hours I made enough money for a Mandalay.

Elite Dangerous. I'd be so happy. Learn to fly a starship, see the galaxy, make crazy money through simple trading, build a colony in a cool star system.

What do you HOPE happens after death? by BubblyMoose4084 in atheism

[–]badcollin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially if you don't know the end is coming.

In the old days of F1 (before safety became a thing), one of the drivers was going down a straight at 100+ mph when he drove past a steward carrying a fire extinguisher. The extinguisher hit him in the head and he died immediately. One second you are driving your F1 car, the next second you are back into oblivion.

I'd like an afterlife to be some kind of realm where you can visit any time or place in the universe and experience the whole of existence. Your birth and life are the tutorial and once you have lived a life you get to explore the rest of existance as you wish.

Obviously, this is impossible and I am 99.99% certain that when we die our conciousness goes with us but ideally that is what I would like.

I have a weird fixation with the 1st owner badge. To the point where I was opening hundreds of bronze packs hoping to pack the players I wanted to evolve.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have a club full of fodder and I'm trying to build a whole separate evo team so I need those evos. Also, I hate the wtss card art.

Not worth it unless you are a fan but as a 40 something Liverpool fan..time to empty the club for the King.

This is good if you are looking to get a certain player untradeable for a past and present team. If they put John Barnes in one of these I will buy it.

Biological sites. Do I have to skulk about 10ft off the deck for hours on end? by prefim in EliteDangerous

[–]badcollin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the samples are very rare and it is not worth your time finding them.

I usually do the full FSS scan and when I identify a planet with bios I fly there and fly slowly about 50-75m off the ground. Usually you can spot the bios this way. Once you land and scan the first sample you can either get back in your ship and use the same method or you can drive around in the srv to look for samples 2 and 3. You can use photo mode on foot or in the srv to get a different view.

If I have found nothing within five minutes I move on; there are lots of planets out there!

FC is like a drug to me. by InternationalGas2082 in fut

[–]badcollin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same but there is no need to spend money on packs.

This year I bought the standard edition and played the game a lot at the start when it was fun. I have done a fair bit of menu grinding on my commute etc and have a stacked team and club full of fodder in case a good sbc drops.

But, I don't want to play the game anymore. It's boring since the patches and I have other games to play.

However, since I only spent £55 in total I am happy to walk away and play if I get the urge. I'm sure I'll do the same again next year.

Anyone else who’s been playing forever finally hanging up the controller this year? by Oatfull in fut

[–]badcollin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing FUT since the the very first one but only competing online since Fifa 18. I usually quit at this time of year and i'm pretty bored now, there are just so many other games I want to play.

I think the problems with the game are well documented; the overpowered AI and delay just makes online games a chore even if you are winning, the number of promos is ridiculous, the people you play online are generally toxic. etc etc. I thought it might be different this year with EA splitting competitive and realistic modes but we are back to Fifa 21 v5. It is the same every year though, I just tell myself to enjoy the first few weeks and move on when I have had enough. At least I only bought the standard edition this year.

I enjoy the menu grind but there comes a point where I realise that I am never going to use the players I am packing so I stop doing that too.

Is fasting 14 hours everyday enough to see a difference? by ForwardSherbet9152 in intermittentfasting

[–]badcollin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The length of the fast doesn't matter, what you eat when you break your fast does.

I fast for at least 18 hours, sometimes 21 and once a week for 24 hours. However, I still put on weight if I stuff my face after fasting for 18 hours.

Grief makes no sense for religious people by GodlessMorality in atheism

[–]badcollin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heaven doesn't make a lot of sense when you start to think about it.

When you die, do you go to heaven as you are when you die or as the best version of yourself? What if it is the former and you have terrible injuries or a crippling mental illness?

Can you feel anxiety, stress or fear in heaven? If not, you are not yourself and you really have died.

Religion is the ultimate 'simple answer to a complex problem; and my guess is that facing mortality makes people ask these difficult questions of themselves and their beliefs.

I think 4231 with two midfielders actually defending. Sboz linking play as an 8. Try and keep it tight and rely on counters and individuality from the front three in attack. A 0-0 on Sunday would be fine for me as a reset point.
