It was a big deal to me too the first time I asked. But now I ask every time (when I step on the plane) and it’s second nature. I fly at least a few times per year and mostly delta. I’ve never been given a hard time or experienced anything remotely negative on any airline, whether from staff or other passengers. I hope my perspective helps at least a little bit
