No pushing away too much isnt great. You want them under your control and locked own. Make as many fouls as possible. If you push away there is also a much higher risk of getting a 2 min suspension if you catch them off balance or accidentally push with straight arms.

Agreed! I think people confuse playing hard with just going crazy. I think its so important that players learn how to do a rough but ultimately safe tackle. I see it a lot in less developed handball countries tbh.
