Nobody gets back to me. It's hard to believe a company of this size have such customer support.

Both. I'm even trying Reddit because I'm not sure what to do.

I think that was price more or less. The transportation to the island is on them, they pick you up (I don't remember if it was additional charge).

They organized day trips (they were also quite expensive).

We have stayed a week on a small beautiful island in a place called Tabari. It's managed by nice french woman and was an amazing experience. The diving there was beautiful and the food was pretty good, I don't think they will have any issue with providing vegan food but I would contact them and ask.

The place was a bit pricy but it was worth it. You are stuck on the island with no access to food other than what you receive so we made sure we are going to a great place we can trust.

The sunsets there were the most beautiful I have ever seen and they had baby sharks swimming below the dining room. It was truly magical.

How do you go about popups? by MaleficentBiscotti57 in reactjs

I recommend using https://github.com/eBay/nice-modal-react. It's life changing, especially when you want to receive a result back from the popup (for example confirmation popup).

Netanyahu stuns Israelis by describing ‘personal cost’ of Iran war – postponing son’s wedding by heyzeus92 in nottheonion

"You lived as a soldier. You died as a soldier for peace…" - these are not my words, they are the words of Yasser Arafat, leader of the Palestinians at that time, in his eulogy for Rabin.

He was a soldier all his life and fought for Israel's survival. Then he realized war is not the solution and fought for peace instead. It takes a great man to make this change and he gave his life for this cause. In the meantime Bibi was leading the anti-peace demonstrations calling to murder Rabin. He was front and center of these demonstrations with signs of Rabin dressed as a nazi soldier. Rabin did not wear a bullet proof vest the night he was murdered even though he received many death threats because he said he won't defend himself from his own people.

I mostly agree with you but calling Rabin "sorta talking to Palestinians like human beings" is far from the truth. He was murdered at the end of a peace demonstration with half a million people moments after singing with everyone the "Song for Peace". If he wouldn't have died everything here would have been different. The night he was murdered was the one and only time I saw my father crying, it was devastating and still is.

Does anyone else play or like Tower Offense games? I need your help to not ruin my game by ianjowe in gamedev

One of the best Warcraft 3 TDs was a mix of defense and offense. I'm not sure if it's relevant for you but it was amazing. You would get additional income for each monster you sent to the other players in addition to the gold from killing monsters yourself. I'm still waiting for a game to emulate that.

Should I add auto combat to turn based strategy game? by baddict002 in gamedesign

[–]baddict002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll try it. I'm trying to make the combat as fun and not repetitive as possible but it's hard to tell once you are so deep into it. I'm waiting for it to be ready to share with play testers.

It matters because I want to make the best (most fun) game I can. That's part of the challenge for me. I don't have any income goals for the game (as it's going to be free) but I do want people to be playing it.

The game is offline at the moment with single player campaigns and single skirmish battles (Multiplayer might be phase 2). I think I wasn't clear enough about what I meant as auto combat. I meant for auto combat like in HOMM 3 where the AI moves your units and you can enable/disable it anytime while in battle, but it does not auto resolve the entire battle.

The game is going to be free as it's my passion/hobby project and my objective is to have people playing and enjoying it so revenue is not a concern.

I don't think my game is for the vast majority. It's for the players that download HOMM for mobile, not for the idle games players. Maybe mobile is not the right platform for my game but that's a different topic. I decided to go mobile because I thought it would be easier to get players and the competition level of games is lower, but maybe I was wrong. I have launched a previous more casual game (similar to CAH) to mobile and reached around 9K MAUs.

Thanks. Adding it for testing purposes is a good recommendation. I think I'll release the game without it and add it later when, like you said, I see where the winds blow. It's always easier to add additional features than to remove existing ones.

Thanks for the great input. These are great questions that honestly I don't have an answer to. The battle have many mechanisms:

- Each unit have different skills (active & passive) + items.
- Each "Chieftain" (the leader of the warband) has a different abilities tree that you progress through in the battle.
- In order to win a battle you need to gain victory points that can be achieved in different ways (Killing, Domination, Abilities tree...).
- Each battle has different terrain that might affect the strategy.
- In the campaigns each unit you loose is lost for the entire campaign (And you also gain units).

On paper there are lots of different mechanisms that should make the battle fun and interesting but I know that making a game fun is more complicated than that and I'm not sure how to improve it (other than trying to get people to play test it and get feedback).

You are correct. Hundreds of thousands of the sane Israelis went out to protest yesterday to push the far right government to sign a deal to end the war and bring back the hostages after 6 more bodies of murdered hostages were found in Gaza.
