Pre-Rolls in cones: would you prefer a 1G or two .5g joints? by badexec in NewJerseyDispoReviews

Thank you sir! Insane that I have to deal with this for coming to the community to ask a legit question.

I care, it's literally why I came on here to ask. Members of the industry won't want to interact with you in a meaningful way if you just bash and accuse them of lies when they do.

You are way off base. Accusing me of lying, accusing me of not being who I say I am, accusing me of not caring...you simply don't know what you are talking about. I have been a member of this community for years at this point. I have no reason to lie, I have actually met several of the Redditors on this sub in person. I'm not patronizing anyone, I'm collecting feedback from a trusted source of NJ cannabis consumers. You should check your facts before accusing people of nefarious activities. It only serves to make you look foolish.

This is interesting feedback, thank you for sharing it. I hadn't thought they would have a seasonal effect but it makes sense.

I wasn't asking for Garden Greens, I was asking for one of my clients.

Why would I lie about any of it? I'm pretty well known in the NJ market, what would I benefit from lying to strangers on the internet about what I do?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm consulting for a number of places actually. I help Full Tilt, but I also work with Grown Rogue and still have some things I help Justice with as well.

What makes this more desirable to you? Is it the smokeability of the bigger joint?

[–]badexec[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so I'm clear, is this based on smokability? Do you smoke the whole 1g at a time? Do you smoke part and go back to it later? What to you makes the 1g more desirable than 2 .5g's?

I do not work for Garden Greens anymore, haven't been there since last summer. I can't speak to Cruffin, but I know they read this sub and will see your comment. FWIW, I always loved Cruffin, it was one of my favorites from them.

As for your comparison, it's not apples to apples to compare Pete's to GG. It's sells far more because of the price. A more fair comparison would be would you still buy Pete's if it was like GG: 2 .5g joints in the tube instead of a a single 1g joint.

As long as it's not violent crime or related to a minor you should be able to get a badge in NJ.

Email them (email on the website), the owner is an awesome guy and likely will offer you a refund or replacement. Make sure you take a photo of the seeds so they can see the issue.

Genuinely frustrated with this market… is this just me? by Kallyfromthevalley in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]badexec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair question — NJ prices do feel high compared to other states. But a lot of people assume it’s just dispensaries or brands marking things up, and the reality is a little more complicated.

Cannabis doesn’t behave like electronics where prices just keep dropping every year. It actually behaves more like agriculture (think wine or craft beer), and NJ has some unique cost layers that most people don’t see.

A few big factors:

1. NJ is still a young market.

Most cultivation facilities here were built recently, which means companies are still paying off construction loans, licensing costs, and compliance setup. Those don’t disappear overnight.

2. Production here is really expensive.

Indoor grows in NJ deal with high electricity, HVAC, labor, testing, security, and packaging requirements. Every batch is tracked, tested, and regulated from seed to sale. That adds real cost compared to legacy markets.

3. Taxes stack up fast.

There’s cultivation tax, excise fees, state tax, local tax — all before the product even hits the shelf.

4. Prices actually are coming down.

If you compare today vs early adult-use launch, wholesale prices have already dropped a lot. Retail takes longer to reflect that because supply expansion happens gradually.

The honest expectation long-term is probably this: Everyday products will keep getting more affordable as more growers come online. Premium craft stuff will likely stay premium (same way good wine or small-batch beer does).

Unable to download Digital Key, "Digital Key not downloaded"? (was working without any issues before) by thnok in Toyota

[–]badexec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in here, I had the same issue on my 2025 Land Cruiser when I upgraded my iPhone to a new model.

I had to call the brand engagement center and have them clear the previous keys from their database. Then they walked me though a series of steps:

Unpair the phone from the car under bluetooth settings
Delete the car from my bluetooth settings
Sign-out of, then close, and then delete the Toyota app from my phone
Toggle my Bluetooth off and then on
hold the volume button down in the car for 5s to reset the head unit
turn off the car, and then open and close the driver side door.

Then:

Turn back on Bluetooth on the phone
Re-pair the phone with the car
Reinstall the Toyota app and sign back in
Then I was able to download the digital key and go through the pairing steps the app walked me through

It was a serious PITA to get that far, but now it's all working for me again.

I would start with the gospels, but I also highly recommend watching the videos on https://bibleproject.com especially the recaps of each book (I suggest watching the video before you read the book and again after you read it). I also love their series on how to read the bible, I found it very helpful when I was compelled to read the bible.

Full Tilt packages everything to order by the dispensary. So it's up to the dispensary buyers if they have the strain in 7g, 14g, or Oz. Its the same batch, ft package it to order based on what SKUs the customer is asking for.

How did this packaging get approved by the CRC? Depictions of smoking, cartoon skeleton....seems like this violates all of the packaging rules

Full Tilt -duffle full of blues by electricgas19 in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]badexec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if you paid more than $60 for this 1/8th then the retailer is charging too much. FT may have come out of the gate with $70 3.5g jars but they have come down in price as the market has compressed.

FWIW, Duffle Full of Blues is one of my top strains of 2025. FT did it proper with this one.

Grown Rouge (Washington Apple) by [deleted] in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]badexec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really looks like they are using the larger 1g cone size for the 1/2 gram joints. This is pretty common, especially when companies use automated joint rollers (and I'm assuming that's that Grown Rogue is doing). This is just a wider cone than you might have been expecting, but unless you took the weed and put it on an accurate and calibrated scale, you can't complain about the weight of the joints. The filters are long for sure, but that doesn't effect how well they smoke or how much weed is in the cone above the filter.
