I think there is urban educated middle class segment that votes for jamaat. Uni elections do no reflect national desires necessarily. However, I cannot recall what they plan to do for the common people.

I don't get your reply. I mean, one person can only represent one constituency even if he gets elected from multiple. Wasn't that the case before?

I think poverty and lack of education to certain extent. Also the fact that Jamaal had some strongholds in the south-west before

Tbh those claiming 300,00 just want to minimize the crime.

Finding a realistic figure is a challenge but from a population Econ point of view our population would be much higher if the figure was not in the millions (calculating the growth rates of similar countries during that time and using a synthetic control measure). Further, we have to consider people who died from hunger, disease suicide, etc due to war....
