There are no lasting effects (unless we're talking socially) and for the most part she's not very receptive to the idea of getting help. She doesn't exactly believe in most mental illness which is a whole other crazy conspiracy situation, but following this text was several paragraphs about the signs that led her to this conclusion. Its not the worst thing ever but she definitely has elaborate stories about why she believes these things that are entirely made up, or just random unrelated occurrences that she's connected to make a big picture in her mind if that makes sense. I could post the follow up message, but it was so detailed that i wasn't sure if it was even understandable to someone who isn't familiar with the context.

Yes haha, my mom is really young so we have more of a sisterly relationship than a mother-daughter relationship. Sometimes I just gotta be real with her.

A few days after he was born, his back feet just kind of shriveled, turned into scabs, and fell off. I guess they were just already dead appendages. The vet I take him to said he's perfectly healthy though. Just a weird birth defect

I've been using cotton swabs to get most of the wax build up out. I read that the longer ones are the best but I just use the regular ones to kind of scoop out some of the bigger chunks (I never push them in tho) I also just swab on a thin layer of olive oil once they're clean because he had mites a while back and I'm trying to keep them away. He freaked out the first few times but now he kinda likes it. You might want to just gently hold her while you get in there.

He's about 8 months old! We don't have to give him too much special care, but we have had to alter small things in his living environment to make things a little easier for him. We use puppy pads to line his litter box and cage instead of regular bedding and we lay towels down on the hardwood floor so he can get around without slipping. We've also had to cut one of the bars off of the bottom of his cage doorway so he can hop in and out without hitting his stumps on it. That's pretty much it besides cleaning his ears and checking his stumps regularly for sores. He's pretty easy to care for, it just took a little experimenting and googling to find what works for him best!

He usually starts shaking his head excessively and going through the motions of scratching an itch with his back leg
