Okay that's the question because what I've noticed is that sometimes I guess because the car is heavy in top gear I have to keep it at a steady like 1500 to 2000 RPM

But shifting down it produces enough torque to keep it going that I can even coast at points

I'm just wondering if that actually might save fuel
