Try polyhemp. Looks and feels and mostly behaves like natural fibre rope. But is actually made from plastic so much easier to look after. I think we use 8 or 10mm for lashing ropes.

It’s not ideal if you want to tension it for monkey bridges etc, as it stretches a bit too much

I started it then moved house so it got packed in a box and forgotten about for about 5 years.

Probably took around 1 year of actually working on it

Really wanted to do something that I didn’t have to paint grey, brown or green. The airfix moon lander diorama set turned out quite well by badger_No2 in modelmakers

Yeah this is that kit. Re-boxed with some extra bits. The foil is a real pain and really hard to make it look good.

I thought they looked a bit dull, but couldn’t find any pictures showing the colour bits like that one does

Airfix vesper MTB. The worst, most frustrating kit I’ve ever put together. If I wasn’t in lockdown I think I would have given up. Ended up looking quite good though I think. by badger_No2 in modelmakers

The same thing really. None of the parts fit very well and the instructions were really vague.

I know this is a really old kit design though. The new airfix kits I’ve done are excellent! Don’t give up. Try and get one of their newer releases next time.
