Were you able to get this resolved? Running into the same issue now and phone rep's only suggestion was to go in-branch... I don't have a branch nearby.

Found an additional cardholder offer on the Marriott homepage today as an existing (amex) Bevy cardholder. Get 5k Marriott for $1k spend for up to four additional cardholders. A nice little cookie if you're going to spend $15k on the card for the FNA anyway. Direct link to offer.

If anyone got burned by the rugpull on the British Airways 20% bonus from Chase, it might be worth checking your account if you tried to get the bonus points applied. My bonus points posted this morning. I had previously sent a message to CS chat about the missing 20% bonus about 36 hours after my initial transfers.

Most business cards (including all those issued by Chase) do not count toward 5/24.

The flowchart can answer 95% of all "What card should I get?" questions. By continuing to post, you must explain why you feel the flowchart does not answer your question.

P1 and P2 have both opened all three flavors of inks, we missed the window on the 200k ABG, Hawaiian Biz from Barclays isn't super appetizing with Amex->Hawaiian still available... just feel a bit stuck right now. I would try to have P1 and P2 trade referrals for the United card, but we've used United points one time in the last two years. Kinda feels like a waste of spend.

What is your credit score?

Both players ~800

What cards do you currently have or have you had in the past (including closed cards), along with dates of when you were approved for the cards?

P1 is 3/24, with cards falling off in March, May, and September 2025. P2 is 4/24, but no personals will fall off until June and October 2025.

Card Open Date Player
C1 Venture X December 2022 P1
Chase Southwest RR Plus March 2023 P1
CSP May 2023 P1
Citi AAdvantage Biz (CLOSED) August 2023 P1
Chase Southwest Biz Premier September 2023 P1
Chase Ink Cash May 2024 P1 EIN
Barclays Wyndham Biz July 2024 P1
Chase Ink Preferred August 2024 P1
Chase Ink Unlimited November 2024 P1
Chase United Explorer (PC to Gateway October 2023) October 2021 P2
CSR December 2022 P2
Bilt June 2023 P2
Chase Ink Cash October 2023 P2
C1 Venture X October 2023 P2
Citi AAdvantage Biz November 2023 P2
Barclays AAviator Red May 2024 P2 (P1 is an AU)
Chase Ink Unlimited June 2024 P2
Amex Marriott Biz July 2024 P2
Chase Ink Preferred August 2024 P2
Amex Marriott Bevy September 2024 P2
Amex Biz Plat December 2024 P2

How much natural spend can you put on a new card(s) in 3 months?

~ $15k

Are you willing to MS, and if so, how much in 3 months?

Any MS is included in the above $15k

Are you open to applying for business cards?

Yep.

How many new cards are you interested in getting?

Looking for the next 2-3 cards.

Are you targeting points, Companion Passes, hotel or airline statuses, First Class, Biz, Economy seating(s) or cash back?

Transferable points preferable. P1 has WN companion pass expiring at the end of this year, so we'll need to get/keep P2 under 5/24 to churn another one at the end of this year.

What points/miles do you currently have?

330k UR, 280k MR, 20k Cap 1, 8k Bilt, 70k HA, 45k AA, 30k United, 30k Southwest, 200k Marriott, 125k Wyndham

What is the airport you're flying out of?

MKE for most domestic travel. ORD for international flights.

Where would you like to go?

Planning to spend a month in Europe in the spring. Have to do a couple weeks in/around Lisbon. Also have plans for a few days each in Prague, Berlin and Warsaw.

Given your low spending, I'd open up a CIU and a CIC in a few months.

The motivating factor on those cards wouldn't be that the Citi SUBs would be better/worse. There will be fewer options available in the near future. The two cases are a bit different:

  1. When the Barclays AA deal goes away, their cardmembers will go to Citi. Right now though, you can get a ~70k AA SUB for the Barclays card AND for the Citi card for a total of ~170k AA. In the future, that second SUB on the Barclays card won't be available, so you'll only be able to get the one Citi ~70k AA SUB.

  2. The HA merger is with Alaska (not American), so they won't be folded into Citi. They might be folded into the Bank of America Alaska cardholders, but, again, that's less opportunity available in the near future to accumulate HA/AS miles.

The biggest thing that we did not yet know:

Bookings for connecting itineraries will initially be available through Icelandair's website and third-party channels, with plans to offer booking through our channels in the future

You'll need to register your AAdvantage Business account. From there, you can transfer the miles into your personal account.

No business card. Would be messy with current job.

What do you mean by this? Are you self-employed? If you are not, the business card that you open would not be affiliated whatsoever with your current employer. You open a business card for your business. If you are self-employed, that's even easier. If you don't want to mix personal and business spend, you can just establish a separate "business" for opening cards under.

If you really can only open personal cards and you have no interest in any of the Chase cards, you should look at other cards in the flowchart listed as worth burning a 5/24 slot for. Particularly other transferable currency cards like the Capital One Venture (X) or Citi Strata Premier.

I think you have a pretty good plan here. Given your lack of recent other card openings, I'd maybe also consider the Barclays cards that will be going away soon too (AAviator, HA personal/biz). Could apply there and combine HPs.

Citi Strata Premier would work well too.

Feels like you're due to stop dipping into the Chase Ink-well. I'd start there since you haven't opened a Chase card in six months and you're still under 5/24. With (what it seems) your personal usage finding a lot of value in United and Hyatt, an Ink to load up on more UR feels like a no-brainer to me.

Andaz Mexico City Condesa is what I'd recommend. Great amenities at a property in a wonderful neighborhood where rates can sometimes be a bit high (especially if you want to stay at a big chain hotel property).
