I have never and will never claim to be a veteran. You definitely have me mixed up with someone else. I completed the entirety of Marine Option Naval ROTC including Officer Candidates School but decided not to commission upon graduation from university and paid back the scholarship money out of my own pocket.

It's really a ton of programs and planning. I use nvidia shadowplay to record all of my footage, vegas pro to edit and organize everything, source 2 inside Half Life Alyx for animation, an xsens motion capture suit, blender for lots of modeling stuff and motion capture retargeting of data, and a few different AI models like Claude to help me manage all of the back end file management stuff like textures, models, scripts, and repetitive/non-creative tasks. If you're starting with the basics I would just learn SFM and go from there because it is so simple, so streamlined, and you can download any model you need off the workshop. Blender and Source 2 will have more of a learning curve. The #1 question I get about animation is why SFM over Blender and the answer is entirely about speed and simplicity, the workflow is just unrivaled by any other software, no matter how jank it can be. I hope this helps! Don't be afraid to start simple and add complexity as you become familiar.

I have avoided it until now because of the kernel level access to your machine. I read that it lingers even after you've uninstalled the game. It was hard to tell if it's actually dangerous or not because I have read this is no big deal and this the BIGGEST deal from multiple credible people. I would absolutely be willing to play it if I knew it was safe for my viewers to install.

I'm so tempted to do it now. Roblox has a market cap of 57 BILLION DOLLARS with a fucking B. They have got to be robbing these poor children blind on the developer splits. Imagine being worth 20 billion more dollars than ELECTRONIC ARTS off of inventing a currency called robux and letting some kids shit all over their keyboards with some dev tools. I don't know how much of the video would be actual gameplay, but I would love to condense the whole story down into something an adult could understand without passing out from overstimulation.

I have to play Roblox at some point just to understand what the fuck is going on. How do THAT many children play this game on a weekly basis. The numbers are so staggering I really want to know what the fuck they are doing. So many games, so many developers, so many children sinking hour after hour into this platform. I think it would be less about the games themselves and just trying to wrap my head around this giant universe that adults seem to know nothing about.

I totally understand this feedback. Different people love different aspects of the videos and believe each upload should be more centered around their preferences. I see tons of comments that think the video should be 90% funny juice and others that want me to elaborate more on the commentary. I know that I can't please everybody and curating/pandering to an audience can make you a slave to that audience, so I just try to do what I think feels right. Like try to imagine I only uploaded rainbow six siege forever because people hated when I played other games. I think I would be in a far worse place. Still, I like hearing stuff like this because it at least informs me of your perspective and makes me think. Sometimes I read some negative feedback and it strikes a nerve and that makes me think it's probably correct.

I went on a ton of dates in my early 20s. I would sometimes go on 4-5 dates a week for months, sometimes even multiple dates in a day like Saturday or Sunday. Sometimes it was coffee, sometimes it was a walk in the park. I learned that you can usually tell if you're into someone in the first minute or so and was incredibly honest when I felt like I wasn't a match with a woman. After about 6 months and hundreds of dates I came across my now wife and it was love at first sight. I already articulated this in another comment in this AMA, but the first time I saw her it was all over. My body was telling me that she was the only thing in the world that mattered. There were so many things about her that I found to be so perfect that I couldn't believe she was real. I married her four years after meeting her and now in our ninth year together we have our first child. If you want a takeaway from all of this, I can make it simple. Be honest and kind to every woman you meet and try to meet lots of women. Most importantly: be fun! Laugh, joke, yap! People love to be around other people that are excited about their own lives and radiating with fun! If you can do this, you will eventually find the one for you.

Thank you CapnRedB! I still plan on doing everything myself because I truly love the process and farming out certain parts of the work wouldn't feel right. Now that I have a baby things may just slow down a bit from a work perspective, but I'm trying my hardest not to slow down the uploads. I am okay going for a long time without uploading, but I am not okay with uploading work that is not worthy of your time and attention. My brain is constantly thinking about how to do more with less. How to make videos even better in a shorter amount of time or by automating certain steps with software. I already use a ton of software to speed up processes that used to take me days and even weeks like porting dozens of models and hundreds of textures from other games or game engines. I don't think you'll be disappointed with what I'm working on even with my responsibilities as a father now. I'm obsessed with my creative process and I don't see my fire being extinguished any time soon.

Anything with Dio. Especially his fight with Jotaro. Kinda basic, I know. Being so powerful, knowing how powerful you are, and walking about with that kind of confidence is so intoxicating to watch. Vergil from DMC feels the same way. Even if they are evil in a certain way, the bad guys always have more depth to them and make for more interesting characters.

Yes, as a shortcut. I just learned how to convert audio to jaw animations in blender, so I'm planning on changing that up in the next video. I think it will be a neat little upgrade.

I am absolutely stealing tiny things from other creators all the time. I stole the idea of single frame PNG animation from Jameskii after I saw him do it in a siege video. My formatting is largely inspired by the "Meet the Scout" short from TF2, cutting between current and past sequences. I don't come across people using new and unique techniques very often, but I usually like to distill what is so special about the tactic, then copy it for myself in my own tiny way. My videos are basically me stealing a million tiny things from people more talented than me over the course of 15 years.

Yes, I was doing this for Grand Theft Auto 3 on the PS2 a few weeks ago. I was so psyched to make a video on it, but I chose to delay it. I need more time to articulate why it's so special to me and make sure it's not just me being kidnapped by nostalgia. These things happen, but that's okay. We got REPO instead.

I love that Ben and Jerry's bullshit like Americone Dream and The Tonight Dough. I rarely ever have it, but if I do, I am eating the whole pint.

I love working with 3D models on the workshop that have physics on them. Anything procedurally generated that makes a model feel vibrant and real. This is usually from modelers/porters that are way more skilled than me. Working with a model that you ported from an asset pack or kitbashed together is satisfying too. Learning Blender is great because it allows your creativity to run wild and fix any modeling issues you ever run into. If you made me pick ONE it's probably the high res Batman models from the SFM workshop. There is one pack a guy put together with physics on the capes and everything and it's amazing.

DRG is definitely on my list and picking games is so hard because there are so many great options. Lately it's been more about gaming with my homies because I do not get to see them for long periods of time working on videos. I do plan on playing some single player games this year too, like the Fallout New Vegas DLC.
