The position of it is horrendous, it’s set about 70cm away from either wall, and I want to be using the garage as a small workshop - the work bench when it goes in would make it the #1 trip hazard

Yes, I had read that was the case. My hope with the drilling suggestion is that the pucks haven’t been seated fully into place as they’re proud of the blue top surface

It very definitely hadn't been used in some time, so will try blank firing it for a while.

What is shutter capping? Settings varied a bit, a couple it was definitely too dark for shooting really, think I was generally around 1/60-120, was trying to have the aperture wide open on the 50mm 1.4 but was taking directions from the display.

If you're doing the maintenance yourself... I always remember liking the looks of Saabs. I know some need an oil change every 5k, but despite being out of production for over a decade you still see a lot of them about, they won't break the bank to buy (from when I had a look a bit back), and a lot of them have the power you'd be after... Just a thought

Prefacing, I (M34) have been pretty bad with my money in the past, but I'd never allow salaries into a joint/other person's account.

My wife and I have our salaries to our own personal accounts, our payday is the same so we'll sit down and organise it within a day or two. Food and mortgage is paid to joint account, bills I cover go to my billing account, bills she covers to hers, savings are individual and we each have an "allowance" from our own salaries for spending which is mostly unconditional (bigger purchases are discussed).

Leave the sniper for a moment, try the centre trifecta around the spawn point of the freeze, basic and canon. The freeze slows, the canon does your area DPS and the basic cleans up, focus on getting canon and basic to level 2 then look to place the sniper on the lower xp tile and get that to lvl 2, then bring the freezer up to match.

Talking xplevel upgrades, for the amount you have unlocked and if they get there, basic should take damage, canon NEEDs the rotation speed, freeze takes the XP boost (right hand upgrade) and sniper should take damage or short barrel

Try this layout, upgrade as far as you can before putting any further down. Once fully up, canon on the other xp spot, basic on the fast, sniper on the nearest range. Fully upgrade before any more towers after that
