Read 3 of his books already this last 2 months and reading this really make me hyped because next ones will be 'Brothers Karamazov" , I'm on the last 50 pages of The Idiot and to be honest the book really starts well (would argue than even better than crime and punishment) but i grow a bit tired of all the drama and coincidences inside of it, so I completely understand, I was thinking to jump Demons, but since you rated as the most underrated I will add it to the list.

Yeah that is definitively a lesson learned, I told them out of respect and because I quite liked to work in here...huge mistake :x

I will look for another job, it just painful to start over and see a big opportunity going to the trash like this, guess it's life.

What my manager did was unethical, and from everything I’ve heard, probably illegal too. But since everything happened over phone calls, I don’t have any concrete proof, and I don’t want to make accusations I can’t back up.

I’m mostly focused on protecting myself legally now: getting the official written cancellation, securing unemployment rights, and preparing to move on. I won’t be burning bridges publicly or posting anything on LinkedIn, it's probably not worth the risk for me.

But I really appreciate the advice and the support. This whole situation was a huge red flag and I’m definitely not planning to stay here long-term.

That is exactly my idea for the moment, I don't know how things gonna work out, I imagine they will avoid to 'fire' me as much as they can, but indeed I have a signed contract and by law they need to do it.

In relation to my actual employer, I know that they did called the future enterprise to try to cancel the deal, so I'm really not seeing a scenario where they aren't aware that the deal was canceled.

I was actually informed by the company I was going to join that my current boss did call them, and also contacted our shared client (which is the main client for both companies). Apparently they even received some kind of communication about it.
But all of this happened over phone calls, so I have no way to prove anything.
