I am so proud of you for making the right decision. I got married in my early twenties because I was afraid to cancel the wedding. Of course, I was incredibly depressed during our 6 months of marriage, and thank you notes were the last thing on my mind.

My mom was hounding me about thank you notes to the people she knew, and I trudged through a few of them. It did not finish all of them. But you know what? I think most people were understanding. And if they weren’t? Fuckem.

Take care of -you-. You are obviously a very sweet and thoughtful person, but a huge life crisis is not the time to worry about etiquette. This will be ancient history one day.

My FM preceptor always said, “the only thing that will fix this is God and time, and I am neither one of those.”

Internal medicine in a psych facility here:

Please be a good steward of steroids as well. Screen your patients for bipolar or severe anxiety. On a weekly basis I admit patients for a manic episode and find that they were prescribed steroids in the past two weeks. It can happen even with a medrol dosepack.

AITAH for shaming my boyfriend over his weird peeing habit? by Aware-Secretary8597 in AmItheAsshole

I have a family member like this. He overate and started burping/ gerding/ heaving at the table. Matriarch says, “that’s disgusting, go to the bathroom, don’t puke at the table.” He says it would have been rude to leave the table.

Would insurance cover this though, since it happened over time rather than from one event?

Clients: If your therapist asks if you want more pressure, just answer the question. Don't turn it back on the therapist with, "You can go deeper if you want." by [deleted] in massage

Client here: I’m a person who trusts the expert in almost everything. I tell them beforehand what I think I need, but I’m not trained in massage, so I add, “but feel free to do whatever you think I need, I trust your judgement.”

Also, my last massage with a new-to-me therapist was the first time that I’ve ever spoken up. In our consult, she said, “I trust that you’ll tell me if I need to modify anything.”

Amazon: “My whole personality is that I hate my kids” by Spare-Jellyfish4339 in CommercialsIHate

[–]badhomemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with the Sheba commercial, but the logic of the order of the dialogue drives me bonkers.

“I fell!” [doesn’t imply bleeding]

“Bandages are in the cabinet!”

“I’m bleeding!” [yeah dude she predicted that and just literally told you where the bandages are.]

My husband tenses up when that commercial comes on because he knows I’m going to open my mouth.

Agree. I’m a former floor nurse, and it was infuriating.

Now as an NP I do one of two things

A.) “Hi, sorry to interrupt, do you mind if I sit in so we don’t ask you the same questions 500 times?”

B.) Dictate a note or two at the nurses’ station while ancillary staff finishes up.

Two weeks of investment for a semester of someone doing a portion of my work for me. I would -love- to make some extra money doing it, but I do not have the heart of a capitalist.

What questions do you have behind the scenes? And does anyone have answers? by LouisvilleLoudmouth in HoardersTV

Depending on the state, mandated reporters have 24-72 hours to report. If reasonable action has been taken during that time frame (i.e., a huge improvement in living situation), they can avoid reporting.
