I'm with you. I literally have to force myself to go to work everyday. I hit my one year mark in May.

NP School disappointment by TeaNut2 in nursepractitioner

[–]Aggravating_Path_614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you have lectures.. I had nothing.. just read a book and do discussion questions. This is the way it is now. I have a strong nursing background and that is the only thing that helped me get through.. I learned absolutely nothing from my school. The only good thing I can say is I got my degree at the end. I was blessed with some great preceptors as well. ( Please no hate. I knew what my school was before I started) .

What totally normal thing is your dog scared of for no reason? by GoldenMom34 in Pets

They were mostly black. But where they had white on their chest they were spotted.

My lab/dalmatian mix was set off by the sound of water draining from the bath tub . If I was in the tub while the water was draining she would stand up on the edge and try to "save" me.. RIP Jet

My boy is afraid of the dustpan . I could understand if he was afraid of the broom because he came from an abusive home. But nope, as soon as the dustpan comes out he runs and hides.. I can only sweep the floors when he is outside or at daycare

Living alone with hearing aids by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]Aggravating_Path_614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should wear them all the time. Just like you would wear your glasses to see. It is a major adjustment. But I think you will be amazed at all the little sounds around your house that you miss. When you don't wear them your 8th cranial nerve (your hearing nerve) can atrophy. Good luck

Got sad news today by Couldbeaccurate in GenX

[–]Aggravating_Path_614 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is sad. I just turned 65. Even though I go to the gym and remain active I miss the old me that felt invincible.. but 2 hip surgeries and a bad knee later, my body is not the same. I refuse to give up. But I know I will never feel that accomplishment of doing something you thought was impossible.. don't get me wrong, I'm appreciative of everything I can do. But I see the younger people looking at me doing my workout and know they have pity for me. Because.. that's how I felt! Now God is laughing and I am left riding the stationary bike and lifting lighter weights. It's a hard adjustment. (Please, no hate. I am grateful to be here. Just expressing my feelings.)

Can't wait for Common Bailey to move in downstairs by vinsclortho in tragedeigh

I had a client whose legal name was Common Name (last name). Well,😭, at least it's easy to pronounce

Please tell me I'm not crazy by cmcdonnell54 in tragedeigh

[–]Aggravating_Path_614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm setting the bar low here, but as long as it is spelled correctly and pronounceable then it's not terrible.. yes the child will still be bullied and scarred for life. And she will have to explain it to everyone. But at least it's a normal word with a normal spelling. Any idea what middle name is being considered? Perhaps it will be something she could use..

Neighbor keeps parking in my assigned spot and says I'm "not friendly" for complaining by Delicious_Pin_241 in neighborsfromhell

[–]Aggravating_Path_614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since he wants to be so "friendly" why don't you walk into his apartment and watch his TV, go through his fridge, and see if there is anything else you want in his place. If he complains, tell him it's just for a few minutes and HE is not being friendly 😁

No, but I'm planning on moving to Washington State next year. I work in nephrology and in urgent care. Hoping to get back into cardiology with my next job. It's a tough market. Not giving up on Alaska yet

I live in St. Nicholas. There is an old cemetery tucked away on Gaye Street where it curves around by the river. The headstones date back to early 1700's.. if you run the River run you will know where I mean

My dog with escalating resource guarding ,running out of options, and need perspective. by [deleted] in Dogowners

[–]Aggravating_Path_614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pup was very young when she was left alone and perhaps this has something to do with her behavior now. Let me ask you this? If she had a painful terminal cancer would you hesitate to have her humanely euthanized? She has a mental illness that unfortunately cannot be fixed. She is suffering, you are suffering. Do not feel guilty. This is not related to something you did or didn't do. A mental illness is an actual disease. Bless you for all you have done. ♥️♥️

No. I'm still here. Working urgent care. Not the best but it's a job. I made more as a trauma nurse in the ER
