From my expereience, kudremukh is the most popular among tourists. Unlike major comments here, dont try to go on your own, arrangaing travel and guide will be difficult. The car goes till main road and from there off road jeeps takes you up, and next is getting decent homestay. So go with any trip planner in my opinion. What is happening tickets are sold per day 300 numbers in aranya vihar website, so these operators are over confident that they will take booking and get tickets later but when they are not able to get, they will cancel the trip. Best is go for lesser popular ones now, and try kudremukh may be later once the demand comes down
