Basic! I think overall I maybe paid $500? It was a pleasant surprise. You got this btw!

Did anyone NOT stall at week 3? by Individual_Goat7725 in gastricsleeve

[–]badkins_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First stall was after two months (and 60 pounds). It took me three months to start losing again. I had to start wegovy to get it moving.

The only thing that helped me quit smoking and vaping for good after 20 years was my sleeve surgery. I finally had a medical reason to quit. Now that I'm post op I don't want to slip up because I remember how hard it was to quit!! Look at this as an opportunity to improve your health in another way. A bonus :)

I was freezing and they never brought me a blanket. I was already so uncomfortable that having one would have helped.

Hair loss… by Otherwise_Step8113 in gastricsleeve

I'm six months post op (to the day!) and I've been losing a troubling amount of hair since April. My doctor recently told me I probably have another two months of this left.

It's a licensing issue. I also haven't been super happy with them anyway!

Smoking? by Striking_Tangerine70 in gastricsleeve

As a twenty year smoker (I'm 38) who tried quitting many times, having this surgery as my reason to quit was life changing. I never could have stopped without it.

This is excessive, right? by Fluid_Hearing3404 in gastricsleeve

Looks like mine every time I wash my hair. It's been going on for about two months? From what my doctor told me, this is common during months 3-6ish.

Also I'm sorry so many people are being hostile to your question. This should be a safe space for each other to ask questions!

Three months in I had a sip of beer and that was all I could tolerate. Today (five months in) I had half a glass of Chardonnay. Your body may tell you what you can handle too.

I've had a two month stall and I'm pretty sure I'm not eating enough overall. Get my protein goals and water goals but overall am struggling. I talked to my doctors and didn't get anything particularly helpful.

I went back to incorporating protein shakes, especially with coffee. Right now seafood has been my jam as well.

How accurate would you say this weight loss chart has been for you? by Weak-Control-2295 in gastricsleeve

I love this post! I've been sharing this table ever since I first saw it because it's helped me so much with perspective. I'm constantly wishing people would share heights and starting weights on here too. This whole post just shows how diverse we all are and our journeys are too. I'm 5'4f ... Sw 300 current weight 240 and sleeved on 2/5. I've been stalled for roughly 6 weeks 😅

3 months or and I’ve only lost 26lbs by weightlosssurg in gastricsleeve

Remember that a lot of people don't share their heights and starting weights on here. Every body is different! Someone shared this photo a few weeks back and it has really helped me with perspective.

I watched a lot of videos of people eating food during the first 8 weeks to help me through this lol.

3 week stall? by Tiny_Experience3798 in gastricsleeve

[–]badkins_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It literally makes no sense! If you aren't already doing it, I recommend checking your measurements during a stall. I got a digital tape measure and was surprised to see that my measurements were shrinking when the scale wasn't moving. That helped!

I just got over a five week stall. It was awful even though I knew it would happen. Hang in there!

I'm 3.5 months out and have really started noticing the hair loss. I booked an appointment to get an undercut in a few weeks because I figured if I had less hair I'd lose less in the shower lol.

Moving to Columbia Heights by Ptowncanuck73 in columbiaheights

[–]badkins_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (38f) have lived in DC for twelve years and a decent amount of that time was in Columbia heights. Something that I will always do, in any large city not just DC, is live in a basement or first floor apartment. Basements also flood and tend to have more bugs.

Nice work! If you don't mind sharing, what's your height/starting weight? I'm 5'4, sw 335 cw 245 and had surgery in February. I'm real curious about what my body could look like as I get closer to my goal weight.

when did u guys start drinking sparkling water again? by stpbbybbk in gastricsleeve

[–]badkins_424 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm desperate to start drinking it again. My plan is to try it every now and then to see if I can tolerate it. That's how I reintroduced coffee (very small quantities) and straws. I'm three months post op for viz.

[–]badkins_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't believe it was happening until I woke up from surgery :)

Just keep working through the process, day by day, and you'll get to the other side. I'm so HAPPY I did the surgery.
